A lecturer at the University of Liverpool, Houlbrook takes a scholarly approach to describing how gay culture evolved in the 20th century. Of particular interest is the venues that went in and out out favor. The art of street cruising was perfected along with the the ability to improvise public (parks, urinals) and private (cinemas, bars) spaces.

I guess it makes a very complex world a simpler place for you to inhabit, which is why really stupid people like labels so much - it saves thinking. You inhabit a mental world where sex tourists are scum, sex offenders and drug dealers should be shot on sight (Thaksin must love people like you, and the feeling's probably mutual) but strangely enough the worst scourge of public health - nicotine - and those who deal in it bring forth ... dead silence (and I use the word "dead" intentionally)

As for the term "hebephile"...I assume you're not talking about an attraction to Jews. "Hebephile" is simply means an adult who is sexually attracted to the older range of children -- but children nevertheless. I'd call it a subset of the more common term "pedophile" or "pederast".

I've said it frequently enough, so you clearly haven't been listening - once they've grown their own welcome mat and have put it out (two conditions there). A teenage boy, cruising the beats of London of his own free will, clearly satisfies both conditions
