I'm enjoying the HBO drama Succession right now. The sex side of it is particularly interesting. Apart from masturbation being a common theme, there was last week's Bucks Party and this week's Wedding. Last week the groom-to-be boasted that he'd been sucked off by a woman at the nightclub who had then french kissed him, inserting his own semen into his mouth, which he had swallowed. Vaguely reminiscent of felching, I suppose. In this week's episode the groom's brother-in-law arrives for the wedding house party intentionally bringing as his guest the woman who had sucked off the groom-to-be. All good clean fun, and Happy Families to boot

Moses, or at least his hopeless "AI" extension, may be buying himself some trouble here!

I see Moses "liked" my post so much that he deleted the problem information from both posts with no acknowledgement - at least some of the other moderators do indicate what they have done and why when deleting parts or all of a post, particularly when it will make a reply post meaningless

Upon Frequents recommendation I've started watching this show and I have to say it crackles. Dialogue of a level not seen since The West Wing.

Amazon Prime hosts the Russian-produced series (two so far) about Catherine the Great; I'm now watching the second series. Succession has nothing on the sex lives of the Romanovs, and the Russian court generally. Equally, the general ambience gives great credibility to the satirical film The Death of Stalin. The English subtitles (the original dialogue is Russian) are a wonder to behold. The only homosexual character so far is Frederick the Great

The Death of Stalin is screamingly good fun. Simon Russell Beale as Beria steals the show from a stellar cast.

This show is so obviously based on the Murdoch family. A bit of research turned up some very interesting rumours about a former Murdoch consort and a former PM. Salacious gossip I'm sure.

On your recommendation I'm watching the first series. I'm on episode 4 and it's very good.

However, the actor playing (the future) Peter III is the spitting image of a young Gene Wilder, and I find that highly distracting - so much so that every 10 minutes I'm expecting him to announce his name is Froderick Fronkensteen

Straight out of the Belami studio IMHO

One of the sub-plots revolves around the eldest son who - we learned about half-way through the series - has a long-term “companion” who’s actually a hooker. In the last episode there’s a lovely scene where the bride questions whether the “escort” should be included in a wedding photo. Heavens, it’s not as if she was only wearing a g-string. That’s the same episode where we discover he has presidential ambitions

I'm catching up on Series 3 of Versailles, loosely based on the reign of Louis XIV. In this series the king's cross-dressing brother, Monsieur, has broken up with his long-term (but not exclusive) naughty boyfriend the Chevalier, who in one episode performs oral sex on a woman. This seems improbable given the standards of hygiene of the day - Versailles stank (https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/256ooy/how_filthy_was_versailles_why_was_it_allowed_to/). In the episode I watched last night a serving woman bared her buttocks to a visiting cardinal, inviting sex. He turned her down, claiming no interest in the carnal desires. Given that in an earlier scene he was shown attended by half-a-dozen pages, I'm surprised he didn't call for one of them. Overall, however, I can see why there won't be a Series 4 - it's too loosely based on history, and few of the characters engage the viewer

Unfortunately the Versailles series ended before the documented historical event where the naughty Chevalier seduces an illegitimate son of Louis XIV. The actor who plays the Dauphin is a rather plain boy, not a patch on the actor who plays the Tsarevitch in Catherine the Great. I had a couple of Thai university students staying over while I was watching Versailles; they were very interested in what I was watching and what happened next. They became rather thoughtful when I explained

I’ve “taped” the entire series to watch when I get chance to do a TV veg out Saturday so for those that know how it ends etc can I ask maybe that you don’t do the whole spoiler thing perhaps ( if someone hadn’t already as I purposefully just skimmed over the thread to date just in case ......

Ha and you know you’re cracking on age wise when you have to explain to your BF what “taping” a programme means ! :-)

Ha and you know you’re cracking on age wise when you have to explain to your BF what “taping” a programme means ! :-)Describing how it ends would require a very long synopsis of the story to date - essentially the last episode sets the story up for series two. And I've already mentioned the one spoiler in an earlier post

This is series one, there will be many more before it ends. It's been described as the Game of Thrones of the boardroom and that's not surprising as it's made by the same company HBO. It uses many of the same chatacteristics as GoT. I've watched 8 episodes so far and the only reason I haven't finished it is because I'm saving it for a bit.

Those of us who enjoyed season 1 of Succession may be pleased to learn that series 2 begins next month. Sadly there will be no series 2 of Press which is sad news indeed for afficionados of newspapers, such as gerefan2

Likewise, never watched a single episode, whereas my BF and just about everyone else I know that has ( actually totally without exception now that I think of it) raves about it and made the fatal mistake of telling me "oh you MUST watch it, you'll love it" - as those two phrases when added together are usually the kiss of death of me actually doing that as "a" no one likes being told you MUST and b) someone telling me I'll LOVE something usually results in me NOT, not matter HOW good it is ! We have a word for that here - THRAN - which I'm guessing in this case means something like someone going out of their way NOT to enjoy themselves just "because" and being a stubborn grumpy hateful oul cunt - oh well, I guess on this occasion if the cap fits ..... :)

No TV show ever grabbed its audience by the balls and held them tight like GoT did. But even the most ardent fans cannot deny the final series was poor.

Living in Belfast ( where GoT is recorded so I'm told) I'm bored now going into various city centre bars with my bf only for him to nearly cum in his pants when he ( and everyone else in the bar it seems) sees ( insert any GoT's actors name here) as quite a lot of them tend to all head out to our local pubs every now, as apparently after the first flurry of selfies with people almost queueing up for same ( my BF being one of them ) they are then apparently fairly much left alone, which Im told doesn't happen when they're in the US etc.

But it's always funny when in a small and busy bar and I'm randomly standing beside my BF as there's no where else to stand he then hoovers for his pic that they turn and "nod to me smiling" as if saying "ok NEXT" to which I then look at them quizzically (but totally genuinely) and have to say "WHAT?" There then follows a short "do you want your pic" to which I then have to honestly reply " hmmm, no ? as thanks and all but honestly I have NO idea who you are, Sorry" and then walk away. I actually think they quite enjoy that wee moment of normality.

Needless to say my bf then spends ten minutes lecturing me about "OMG you're so rude as that was ( some girls names?) who were in the show ( I still have no idea who) and how the young one was the very biggest star in the show "apparently" as his fingers are going crazy instgraming his pics and reading the replies from people in Asia he knows who thinks it's amazing - I insist he adds a pic of me with a pint of guinness saying 'hi" but apparently that doesn't garner the same "likes' - the fussy bitches ! :)

The latest episode uses one of my favourite words - "fungible". Marrying up the cast of characters to posters on SGT is an interesting exercise. For a long time I've wondered who would be Roman Roy, but I think now it's obviously latintopxxx. For Greg it's cdnmatt. I'm Logan (of course)
