perhaps you are seeing these links because some forum managers are obsessed with installing new "features" even if they serve no useful purpose?

It brings last 5 topics. If one of them is 12 years old, well it will bring it anyway - it has no limits by time in setup.

Personally, I like the newe function and it does serve a purpose. It makes the site far easier to use and heightens its' value as a research tool.

in all of the threads I have looked at the majority of links are so off-topic as to be no use as a "research tool", and are either so off topic or too old to be use for someone planning a trip now

but OK, from your recent posts you seem to be looking for information for an upcoming trip - what percentage of these links in what percentage of posts have you found to be actually useful?

so it is badly designed and badly implemented and is thus spewing out too much useless information - so why did you install it and turn it on?
