Being banned sadly didn't have me miss the forum, I thought it would have given I've been posting and reading here for so many years, As it turned out I'm afraid Moses Ban had absolutely no impact on my reading/posting on the forum whatsoever, he totally wasted his time banning me mere hours before a near month long Thailand trip as I never (or only very rarely) post/read the forum during a trip. It did however make it inconvenient for members who were not banned to keep in touch with me, as I usually plan to meet up with members if we happen to be in same area of Thailand at same time on a trip, it can only be done at short notice usually by PM. But positive is that I now have email details of all those members, so won't need Moses's forum to keep in future contact.

In truth only made this post here because being banned and therefore unable to access SGT, decided to post it at Gay Thailand near the end of trip in case I forgot much of the detail. However I found trying to make a very long post there not straightforward, it's too much work to compose, have something 'go wrong' and it not upload. Anyway here is a 'brief' outline of recent trip made during Feb. I appreciate regular visitors/expats have little interest in this type of post as much of it is same from trip to trip and they experience it on a daily basis, but many who have weeks/months between visits seem to appreciate updates from recent trips which is the purpose of any trip reports I make. All from memory so just accept there might be small inaccurancies here/there rather then nit-pick.

The (about) month's trip was split into Bkk visit at start, short stay Jomtien followed by Issan trip, back to Pattaya for a few days returning to Bkk 4 days before heading home. Jomtien . Again enjoyed Jomtien enormously, pre-trip usually plan visits to certain bars which never materialise, this case happened with new show bar M2M as I always had better options on the night. I enjoy a number of the Jomtein bars but particularly Sun Bar , many of the lads here from Laos rather than/as well as Cambodia which helps (me) with communication as Laos/Issan/English works here fine, met 2-3 realy nice engaging lads, but I find Cambodian lads here easy to get on with too. Also found here that boys (certainly in my experience) approach politely as soon as you are led to table rather than some of the bars where you are left until you call somebody over. Half a dozen lads here I could easily have offed in previous times before I had bf. @Home Bar was another very busy bar with much increased table space since my last trip, had party one night which was very well attended, great atmosphere, but mostly farang karaoke songs. On the same night Q Mark Bar also had celebration and we preffered the Issan/Morlam style music here and antics of the boys. One boy mentioned on a previous thread here Bia/Beer/aka..'The Walking Boy' was encouraged to 'entertain' here by the singers who all knew him by name, and entertain he did which turned out to be very enjoyable.

4T Bar and the smaller Angel Bar also very busy/good fun, but it was 'high-ish' season after all, again nice lads, not pushy. Also visited cockatoo, Kiss Bar, Man Bar, BM Bar and others in between. The Venue , the only 'showbar' I have any time for had some excellent new routines again with their attractive younger dancers providing some additional eye-candy. Even with competition from M2M up the soi it was packed to capacity inside the night we visited. Love also to sit late afternoon at Festival Bar next to Dicks with glass of wine/cool beer enjoying the breeze which blows down that soi later on, very relaxing! also nice coffee at coffee shop opposite. Bf liked the food served at Dicks Caf which means it must have been very good, spicy seafood platter apparently excellent.

Stayed at East-suites immaculate room as usual, everything perfect working order, this is how apartments should be kept/maintained as nothing seems to go downhill between visits. A visiting farang I met in Jomtien was staying at The Venue Hotel invited me up to see his room, looked good, so my next trip in June decided to booked there for a change (more accurately my preferred room at East Suites on my June dates is fully booked!) I know smiles/others here have stayed in the past with good reports. The rate was a very reasonable Bt1070 for Deluxe room with balcony. Junior Suite not available my dates.

South Pattaya . Stayed here for 12 days...12th to 22nd February (to give some perspective/timeline). Whilst some of the Sunee bars were busy enough, many were very quiet considering this is high-ish season doesn't bode well for rest of year, and with the on-going road woks had Boyztown in a bit of a mess so it didn't feel as welcoming as a normal. Sunee. Pluses were Nice Boys who had a decent crop of lads all willing to engage with customers, Beer, the owner was his usual polite self, enjoyed his company when visiting with no pressure for extra drinks, makes a change from the usual grasping mamasans. Fun bar, if you like your boys manly and forward, this is the place for you. Popped in by Power Boys , first time an ages, not busy but 3 very attractive lads in amongst the average man-boys, while more on the flexible/bottom side were good fun, one I have know for a while, his two friends were equally as happy to chat/joke. Forest Bar still late night/early morning favourite as a winding down spot, with Aum and the lads always chatty/good for a laugh, it's amazing the range of clientele who visit here during a night. Ouds CafBar as usual too..entertaining, here is where I get much of the 'necessary' info (gossip!) on what's happening around town, Morlam nights, new/closed venues, what the 'in' places are etc.. also enjoyed Ouds cooking/coffee on occasion.

Ting Tong Red remains most puzzling of the sunee bars in relation to being busy. Previous trips could always rely on it to be very busy with customers and plenty of boys on hand. Last trip they were quiet which I put down to 'low season' or not German/North Euro holidays, but this trip again very quiet with few boys, it sometimes back fires when bars install a snooker table to attract custom, and if hidden out of the way and boys are quiet they disappear to play pool, so when customers pass they don't see any boys outside, so keep passing. Next up the soi for me is Diamond Bar another favourite in sunee, with cute engaging boys here, usually good customer numbers but with big frontage sometimes looks emptier than it is. Boost here is snooker table and great view over surrounding sois. Even Mr Francois was still out late enough for us to cross paths here! Over at Green Chair Bar surprisingly busy every night, although I say that on every trip! many expats seem to collect here. Euro Boys Bar remains my favourite bar in Sunee , busy every single night I was there with 3-4 nights packed to capacity and that's with them even encroaching into the former Eden Bar frontage with 2-3 tables. Boys here all cute and to my taste, all happy to approach/engage with customers, all have great attitude with many having regular offs which they deserve. Also very solid customer base with many (like me) on couple weeks holiday in Pattaya visiting the bar at some point every night, met a few expats/visitors/forum members in the mix here.

Winner Gogo up next, still very busy the nights I went , boys all keen to engage, plenty of fun and as with previous trips I noticed plenty of offs, generous farang customers giving drinks/tips, didn't see any ping-pong balls bouncing around though, enjoyed also the outside seating area with couple lads on occasion. No updates on Eros as I didn't make it there, but stopped in by Rainbow Bar 2-3 times in the evening, nice staff and place to sit while catching up with sms's/missed calls etc while enjoying the comings/goings at Winner. Double Shot as usual...one night quiet...next night jumping...again some very attractive man-boys here all very willing to sit with customers. I like the brightness it brings to the sois around as well as the attitude and atmosphere, two top-shelf spirits vodka/gin etc for Bt140 with mixer giving two full glasses of quality product for Bt70 each as I always split the measure into two glasses. Sky Bar still also a favourite with owner Alain never slow to offer free nibbles, varying quality of staff, though one very cute freelancer who works hotel as main job sometimes appears, some nights has great vibe when a few of Alain's countrymen/women turn up later on well oiled! only downside is a Sunday when Doub Shot is closed, makes the surrounding area very dark/uninviting which I do think affects customer numbers in nearby bars, I know Alain has appealed for DS to open 7 days but so far to no avail. Goodboys as I've mentioned before though not my cup o' tea, has some attractive man-boys polite and engaging despite initial look, never pushy and I think perfect for those who like the hands-on man boys. Some bars in sunee are doing alright, but some are certainly struggling a bit, that's for sure....the rest of the year will be a real test/challenging for some.

Boystown/Pattayaland. Well....with road dug up, sand, pipes, and various digging appliances lying around certainly didn't look attractive, but didn't put me off. They had wooden running boards the length of the soi, thankfully not rainy season. Hat Boyztown as it was described (Boyztown Beach) . Toy Boys as usual busy this time of year most nights. Some new boys on the rosta, 'Boss' introduced me to cute newly arrived lad from 'up North' very keen as are most of the staff there. Usual couple of free drinks along side the one's I actually bought kept me here long enough to have seen all the available boys on rotation, there are still a few attractive lads here. I have seen Christian pfc as well as others complain that boys here sit outside as 'lure' and won't visit because of that....I just don't 'get' that attitude, you are perfectly free to sit down inside order a drink have a look at those inside, and then simply sit outside at a tables there enjoying a different scene, also it's easy, more informal setting to 'chat up' the boys there who are often just on a break of some kind. I found it great place to interact and where 'boss' introduced me to new lads. That's a suggestion then, try outside as well as in. Prisma stuck between a great place to sit outside terrace, but average Gogo inside with few boys and now employing former Power Boys mamasan. Sat on the terrace most nights at start of an evening, beer here is only Bt99, which I only found on receiving bill (inside Bt180?). Castro Show Bar show recommended by many but from what I could see/hear from the outside didn't appear to be for me. Oscar Bar I liked, enjoyed a couple of excellent nights here, though attraction to spend time here is because bf and I are good friends with one of the owners whose bf is from bfs village and known to me for many years. Serene Bar was buzzing, noisy, looked great fun every night we were in BT, plenty of younger eastern European customers who certainly know how to party, a waiter here I have known for a number of years tells me they are really great fun and very generous with drinks, tips, offs, says he loves working there. Panorama on the other hand not guaranteed to be busy as previous years, in fact quite flat a few nights while Serene packed next door, we still drop in by for 'old times sake', BzBzBz however still great fun for us on outside terrace where we parked ourselves 2-3 nights, great nights here because we know so many of the staff for various reasons. Inside BBB not for me though. Cupidol however take the prize as the most downhill bar since a year ago, quite a change from full bar of boys and customers this time last year, to now....with 4-5 boys lacklustre and way too many waitstaff/mamasan types 'hanging' around..

Pattayaland 1 big plus was roadsurface work was completed, however Kawaii Boys again was a disappointment in boy/customer numbers, only 4-5 lads here who spend more time staring than getting on with some shuffling/dancing and let customers relax with a bit of 'something' to watch. Dreamboys however was a surprise, although tending to be manboys here, couple of attractive/cute lads in the crew, at least 10 lads on stage at any one time and some actual 'dancing' with good vibe, mamasans also polite, keeping distance until requested, boys all ready to engage through smiles, chat and eye contact. enjoyed visit here. Didn't visit X-Boys or A-Bomb .

Clubs/Late Night Venues. Favourite as expected was Sinlapin Issan which by all accounts has taken over from Tam Nan Issan, not that I was able to confirm it as for the first time in years didn't manage visit to TNI to find out, it just didn't work out in terms of the 'logistics' of a night. SinIssan strict with ID, no doubt to protect itself with authorities and perhaps 'rivals' and one night bf forgot ID, but managed to gain entry by showing 'something' on iPhone, still didn't find out what he showed to get in. Anyway great nights fun on very visit, preferred tables on raised area around main floor, better view of proceedings, as also expected 80% gay lads in surrounding tables, many from bars as well as those in 'normal' jobs around town. Food as good as TNI and many comments that Aircon 100% better than TNI. Acts onstage much the same as TNI and reasonable prices. One aspect I'm finding more and more is the amount of lads and lasses who prefer to buy spirit from 7-11 and take in as they simply don't trust what is in the whiskey bottles at various venues. But in terms of Sinissan they seem to have some knid of tie-up with Blend 285 so most accept the spirits here should be 'originan!' There are many youtube vids showing counterfeit booze being bottled up as Johnny red/black etc. Anyway the Vodka I bought from 7-11 only attracted a corkage charge of Bt100, (they didn't have Vodka on the pricelist anyway) that along with 3 mixers for Bt100 (compared to many clubs at Bt155-180+) made for a very reasonable bill at the end. We saw out the full night finish at 5,30am only once, other nights around 3am, with motocy only Bt40 from Sunee/Walk St, easily accessible for the lads even Jomtien had good representation most nights.

Not full report , over the 15,000 characters limit, so had to cut bits out with lots of 'nouns' now missing, so some parts might nut maik sens, will post the rest separately.

Not that there's any love lost between us, but I have been taken to task for stating that you had been banned

I've had it from the horse's mouth (actually his fingertips I suppose) that you (being in the same boat as Frequent) were NOT banned at all, merely temporarily suspended.

Apparently semantics are absolutely vital.

I'm sure that Moses will be along shortly to point this out to you.

Meanwhile thanks for your interesting report

15,000 word limit?
I never knew that (besides perhaps I'd forgotten .... "at my age".)

Whatever. I always enjoyed your long, er, stuff -- now once again.

London continues to freeze- it's supposed to be Spring- and so news from Thailand is particularly cheering. Any signs of life around Cafe Royale?

Thanks for a superb report which was obviously painstakingly compiled. It will no doubt prove very useful after my arrival in Jomtien in less than a week's time. It ought to be a lot of fun assessing whether my judgments match your own.

This would have to be the most comprehensive report I think I've ever seen on this forum.

Thanks for taking the time to put it all together for us. I found it particularly relevant as I'll be heading to Pattaya next month.

And it's great to read that man-boys are back in town in increasing numbers. I still recall those ghastly days in Pattaya when every second guy wore thick make-up and sported a pair of titties.

Excellent report thank you. Prisma drinks inside are now 220 baht for a Leo beer (you mentioned 180 with a ?). I prefer Nice Boys and Winner bar in Sunnee for reasonable drink prices and much better entertainment than the Boyztown bars. Oscars is still good though with drink specials and friendly staff. Cafe Royale is still closed and darkens the soi. The concrete has been completed so full access is restored to the Boyztown soi.

Any news on the Tarntawan Hotel?
I stayed there a few weeks ago and they seem to be moving back to the hotel they were in he past. Most staff have changed and they have a new manager that replaced the young guy who came in after the sale and made all the changes. They are still not the place they were before the sale but better now than under the last manager. I will be there again in a few weeks and will update if any significant changes have recently occurred.

Thank you for the various PMs where a few questions were asked. I had planned to post the rest of the trip report which covered some of them but I'm not so sure about posting now/or if I will be able to.......as amongst the PMs was one from a member called Moses who advises me I now have an infraction. What is this and why have I received one? If it was because my post was too long I apologise for taking the time to make a contribution to your forum. If for something else please advise because I genuinely have no idea what it's all about.

15,000 word limit? I never knew that (besides perhaps I'd forgotten .... "at my age".
I had come across this before but forgot, and so was over by about 3,000 so had to cut out a big section as well many of the nouns and verbs, but it's not even 15,000 words it's 15,000 actual individual characters or letters!

I encountered the same initially frustrating problem when I posted a very long post about a trip to Cuba on the Sawatdee Gay World sub-forum. It was, however, an easy job to split the text into two consecutive posts, with no need for editing at all. https://sawatdeenetwork.com/v4/showthread.php?17477-cuba/page2

Indeed a good report. I wonder if any of those regular Pattaya visitors will be checking flights transiting through Beijing?

Let's just nail this - door to door it's a full 24hours for me to get to to Pattaya - whether that's via the arab states or London - and using the most expensive (shortest time) tickets.

If an alternative opens up (as it has done with the new Chinese carrier out of GLA) - I will look at it. It may turn out to be a practical or impractical proposition depending on timings and fares (both unknown at the moment). I'm sure people who fly out of DUB will look at it too.
I don't apologise for alerting people to it

This London-centric sneering at people who fly from airports where there is not a huge choice of carriers on a route merely reinforces the myopic nature of some people who take for granted the advantageous position they are in - in terms of both choice and low prices

arsenal
March 21st, 2018, 20:29
So presumably if someone posted about flight options from Standsted Airport you would welcome the information and not get all angry about it.

scottish-guy

I would look at it and see whether it would be of benefit to me - but since there are no carriers from GLA or EDI to Stansted who give any reasonable luggage allowance suitable for a holiday in Thailand, it's unlikely a flight from STN would be of any advantage to me.

Further, even if the luggage situation was sorted out via a codeshare for example, if the STN flight was anything other than non-stop then there's no advantage to me.

I might also point out that there are already more than enough flights to Thailand from London airports and that extra choices from so-called regional airports would be a better option.

Hi Sir Lonely. :yahoo_mini:

I don't. They come looking for me. Read the timelines. Like you and your obsession with my lucrative restaurant promotions.

Now, to business. When are you meeting Scottish Guy for the slap up breakfast do? And where are you going. I recommend Deli Diner. For just 119 baht you can enjoy proper sausages, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, fried potatoes, mushrooms, toast, butter, jam, marmalade, orange juice and tea or coffee. Quite excellent value.

Thanks for the trip report NewalAlaan
Currently laid up after a gall bladder operation gone wrong and really appreciated it whiling away part of a boring evening!

I will also miss my songkran trip this year due to recovery, so your report helps keep my knowledge "refreshed" whilst I count down to a rearranged trip in late may or June...
(We may even finally overlap on a visit!)
I see on Facebook that Eden bar in sunee is set to reopen tonight under new management.

You forgot to mention how cruisy the toilets in Silapin Issan are! There is only 1 "guard" there.... So the boys seems to be a lot more flirty than in TNI or NAB

(That's not an excuse for some of you to set up a permanent habitat there!)

PART TWO OF TRIP
Just the rest of the trip notes I had already compiled and not posted on the OP as I ran out of 'characters', more just general bit's and bob's.

Pattaya.
Lodgings on the second stay in Pattaya were at the usual Mosaik Apartments nothing really new to add to their consistently excellent rooms, stayed in one of the Deluxe 1-Bed units this time which was very spacious with balcony over-looking main soi right across from Helios Massage. Everything spot-on only the rather larger than usual electric bill due to 2 large rooms using aircon for a great deal of the time. Bf spends as much time in the room as out, prefers to invite friends round for pre-night out/clubbing drinks rather than going to the bars first as I prefer. They can chatter away, eat, cook, have telly on (whether watching or not), keep track on the social media, to their hearts content with no interruptions. Also as there are no roof fans the result is more electric units used.

Morlam. Only had one night of outdoor Morlam at the larger site next to Tam Nan Chon this trip on Friday 16th feb, Bt140 entrance as usual, Bt5 for toilets within the Morlam area, Leo Bt55 sml can, Bt100 large bottle so not expensive night there. Huge crowd in attendance and bumped into quite a few former 'friends' as well as lads from many of the bars around BT, sunee and even the Jomtien bars had good representation. I thoroughly enjoy these nights there is a great laid-back vibe and atmosphere, arrived just before 11pm and finished 1.30am. There's always something going om around you as well as the stage, so 2.1/2 hours passes very quickly indeed, and the amount of obviously gay lads you never see round the bars, clubs massage shops is incredible, always new faces at a Morlam night. There was another not quite so large outdoor Morlam event on the Xyte ground next evening Saturday 17th but we didn't go as had other plans so not sure how well attended it was.
Walking Street. As per last trip in Oct Walk St still very much popular with lads from BT and Sunee just simply because of it's location. This trip Lucifer which I don't think I had visited before appeared to be the new 'in' place. Music of course far too loud and mostly total shite, but if you can see past these two minor irritations, or indeed have had enough to drink not to give a shit good fun can be had here for a limited duration visit. We did enjoy 2-3 late nights here before hitting Marine Disco or elsewhere and found our favourite spot at Lucifer was in the front section right beside the front entrance where there is a bar counter top with stools and quick bar service, you can hear the 'tunes' such as they are but not as loud as the Massive Speaker Cabinet aka...the main disco area further in. It's also a good spot to take in the unique Walk St passing 'show' almost like being in a Channel 4 documentary at times. Marine Disco (Maleeen in local speak) is still a favourite of many, not a nightly visit but occasional is fine, sometimes hit or miss, sometimes some of the showbars crew join the ladyboys near the DJ booth area for even more dancing. We still enjoy an occasional game of pool there before looking for a table in the dance area, also great if you still fancy a late night finish, 5.30-6am.

Other passing Pattaya notes- Had a daily large Americano at Deli Diner and at Bt55 half the price of Starbucks and more to my taste, although was very 'put out' when they closed for 4 days around Valentines Day. Also used them as first choice when the Western food cravings took hold, as usual never bother with the 3 course 'set menu' specials as too much for me one sitting, but daily mains specials like Cottage Pie still on menu and hits the spot. As does the breakfast option which I only had once, and even taking the smaller option at 99Bt it's still ridiculously cheap for what you get. Their succulent Pork medallions with mash and veg cooked 'just right' from the main menu still a huge bargain too at Bt129. However bf thought their Thai offerings just 'ok' this time round, but he is fussy about his Thai food! But finally made it to a new (to us) restaurant, at last bf and I managed to make it to Pattaya Beer Garden near the Walking St entrance, even with 18 years visits to Pattaya under my belt I never actually knew where it was never mind visit, despite Colmx recommendations though the years. Actually saw it on a Thai Blogger vid on YouTube so decided to pay a visit. Bf enjoyed the Thai food as did I, we settled for a selection of Thai dishes rather than any western, lovely view over the Bay and cooling breeze on the day we were there, young straight couple asked to share our rather large table near the end of our meal as at 4-5pm the place was absolutely packed to near capacity. No attitude from straights surrounding us at other tables and even some Russians close by didn't bother with the judgemental stares, not that it would have made any difference to our enjoyment. The young couple maybe 25-ish were in fact very chatty aksed if we were 'couple' and seemed taken with bf, also helped them with a few easy to remember Thai words on request. This is one of the differences to here than back home...I somehow think that would never have happened back in blighty where the negative 'attitudes' no doubt would have been on full show.

Usually have massages at some pint during a trip, and for the first time in a couple years had one at Helios Massage (previously Blue House) across from our Mosaik room. The boys I usually 'out front' when passing are more man-boy types so it was good to hear a familiar voice call across as I passed on first day to see a really nice massage guy called 'Lek' who worked ther for many years under it's previous name whom I had not seen for some time as he had w=bben working in Dubai for a couple years, I know a couple of SGT members know him from the past too, so it was good to see he was back working there. 'Probably' the only flexible guy on their books and provided an excellent massage as previous years, first time I had been in the refurbished newly named Helios to find good rooms with shower cubicle in room and raised massage bed so as no need to visit shower outwith room there were no valuables security concerns. Oil massage Bt500 here and available guys tend not to parade themselves outside, I only ever saw the same 3-4 lads hanging around outside when passing daily, so I was surprised to see so many sitting around inside on my visit probably 10-12, they wait for customer to enter and kinda line up as per some of the Bkk massage places. That's maybe a pity as many customers like to see who is available and perhaps choose somebody based on that rather than having to go in not knowing if there will be a suitable boy and 'face' a line-up.

Transport . Used Pattaya Limo yet again on the two journey's from/to Silom area of Bkk, Bt1500 inc tolls each way, at start and end of trip and as usual driver waiting ahead of agreed pick up time with smooth comfortable journey well driver at reasonable speeds, unlike my other taxi experience. So I still recommend them.

Bkk part. These Bkk notes are combined from a stay right at the start of the trip and at the end before heading home so about 3 weeks between them and even in that short time span there seemed to be a tightening up and changes in Gogo/bar/disco closing times and street seller times. So some info might not tie up with current trends. Arrival at Swampy was straightforward, I had the new 30 exemption card, but left the email address and telephone number part blank. Went to 2nd Immigration area and got straight through, I saw some from my fight still in long Q's at 1st immigration as I went to collect luggage. Nobody bothered at customs so straight down to lower floor where the rail connections are to seek out the exchange booths. Once again they turned out to offer the best rates on the whole of my trip, (although equal to X-One exchange on Surawong) by the time I hit pattaya cashed some of the Sterling I held back Friendship booth had the best rate (better than TT) but still not as good as Airport booths on lowest floor.

First day in Bkk always have massage at Bonnys Massage to help the body revived after long flights from UK. Quick seat at Dicks for couple relaxing drinks first then my regular cute Laos masseur came over to say hello and remind me he had started work. Bt600 for Oil massage here, and had usual superb massage experience. Boys here normally shower with you, are naked from get-go and shower with you after and help with the oil slick removal. Room door is locked if you wish when going to showers in hallway. There is very low volume music piped here so at his suggestion put on my MP3 player at low on speaker and the selection of Thai songs helped with relaxing atmosphere for both. I often see on the forum boards some posters asking about offing massage lads, while I didn't not discuss this with my Loas boy he did offer to meet up outwith his working hours/day off as he said life is dreadfully boring at times and with little money simply can't afford regular nights out at pubs/clubs etc.. and so said he was happy to trade a night out with small tip for sex. Unfortunately was unable to take him up on it. The first night a look round the area to see what's new then an early crash out back in the room after long flights with little sleep.

Soi Twilight was busyish but not as busy as I would have expected for Chinese New Year time. But I noticed Dream Boys didn't even have the usual big numbers entering, and from my seat at former Solid Bar I didn't see a single person enter X-size, a couple did venture further up the soi as far as Classic Gogo. I had heard from the former Solid bar boss 6 months ago about the impending closure of the soi, so the speculation over at Gay Thailand and Gaybutt regarding the issue came as no surprise. Just seems nobody seems to know the extent and timescale involved. The bars near the soi entrance seemed to be busy enough, Banana Bar busy at varying times through the evening as was Hotmale 2 Bar but was actually crowded the couple nights I sat there, Maxis was doing decent trade as well, these bars at the start of the soi definitely benefit from their location, quite a few passing straight couples looking around just plonked themselves at the first bar with available seating. Bf and I visited Hotmale Gogo for a change and the doormen there whom I have known for many years always make sure we pay discounted price for drinks, normal prices are Bt400 for first drink and Bt350 for subsequent, I don't actually ask for cheaper drinks if I indicate I/we are heading up to gogo rather than just using toilet facilities which are shared with gogo, hotmale 2 Bar and Banana bar one or the other always accompanies us up to a suitable seat then 'advises' the waiter what we are to pay, this time it was Bt300 each but had to check bin immediately I assume to keep it quiet. Decent show here the night we visited, big cock/shower etc.. with good looking participants.

On a separate night I visited Screw Boys over on Patpong, as before 10-12 lads and 2-3 very cute lads in the mix, didn't stay for show but enjoyed visit as mamasans keep distance unless requested, drinks Bt300 and a couple of Bt100 tips to lads showing some enthusiasm. Soi 4 was busy too but again I've seen it much busier in Feb especially around Chinese New Year, Telephone and Balcony main terrace packed but Balcony small terrace actually a bit quiet. From there, I think it may have been a Saturday night as over at Jupiter it was Bt400 entrance due to Chinese NY. But my goodness! the place was so jam packed I struggled to find a single seat, got squeezed in between a young cute Chinese couple on one side and a young very attractive Russian female on the other. She was there for a hung, athletic body young man so she declared, but she struggled to explain what she was after to the Thai waiter so I got roped in to help with negotiations, apparently Bt500 maybe Bt400 for off fee, and Bt2000 expected tip for the lad she had her eyes on, she didn't flinch at either number, had already downed two whiskeys and was on to a third as I was leaving. I actually do enjoy the Jupiter spectacle, with boys on the catwalk in various fashion gear seems far away from the gogo concept. The boys onstage usually not my 'type' but a great deal of the Asian..Chinese and Korean customers in their groups of 2-3-4 certainly are nice eye-candy. They do seem to take in the whole show 'thing' but rarely see boys being asked down for drinks. I saw only two other westerners seated across from me and obviously regulares as they had whisky set and their own personal waiter by the looks of it. The other 95% all Asian. But it's very many years since I have been in a Gogo bar anywhere in Thailand so packed and busy. So enjoyed my Jupiter visit.

As for DJ Station Soi 2 the whole soi was absolutely jam packed on the first visit early in the trip, and actually loads of younger cute Thai/Cambodian/Loas lads in the main DJ club area. As usual Bt300 for 2 drinks entry and the opening times clearly shown on a large board as you enter the soi before you pay, every night we passed or were there it was 9.30pm open 2am closed. Again as with Jupiter 95% Asian with quite a few Indian guys in attendance, but moving around was nigh impossible. GOD on the other hand while open at start of trip wasn't as packed as normal at 3-4 am, usual Bt350 for 2 drinks at entrance and as with DJ all Asian guys, which is fine by me. Later at end of trip it wasn't even open at all, so not sure what happened near end of trip with some kind of 'crack down' which is a bit irritating.

Overall another very enjoyable trip, even with BT, Pattayaland and sunee nothing like as busy as years gone by, ther's stil tons and tons of boys making themselves available all over Pattaya, and Jomtien I would say still on an upward trajectory. So still very well worth the regular trips I make, and even if didn't have bf and had to rely on pickups from bars and social media it would still be 'the place'........for me anyway. Bkk and Soi Twlight, well we'll just have to wait and see what happens there in not too distant future. Well, that's it for now, hope some made it through to end!

Sorry to hear about the operation, especially the 'gone wrong' bit. That must be about the first Songkran you'll have missed for a fair number of years, if ever, since you started visiting. I've managed only two in 18 years! If our trips do overlap surely to hell we could manage to synchronise a visit to Silipin Issan on the same night!

I saw a post over at Gay Thailand about Eden, but a bit concerned that it said a few of the Diamond Bar staff had already moved, Diamond doesn't have that big a roster of guys and would hate to think it affects it negatively. Also it must have been a bit of an effort to get Eden going again as they sold all their furniture and bit's/bob's to Diamond next door when they closed. But very pleased to hear another bar will be reopening as long a it's not to the detriment of Diamond. Any idea who is behind it? I did run into the Thai lad (forget his name) who ran it previously at the Morlam night and Silipin Issan but didn't mention it.

As for Silipin, the first night we went there was actually no water in the toilet or anywhere in the building for the first two hours! (Anyone there the same night as us?)There was a 'rush' when they announced water was 'running' again. From what I witnessed on my visits after 3-4am the flirting takes place from one side of Silipin to the other! Actually when visiting the toilets, I only saw an 'attendant' there very rarely.

All the best for a speedy return to 'action'.

Speaking of Songkran, anyone know how many public holidays it will cover in Bangkok this year? As I recall it's a completely different week in Pattaya
