Is it my tripping on far too many bottles of Leo/Chang of late causing an distorted view of reality or is Sunnee going through somewhat of a revival?
It seems that each time I look around while ordering another more customers appear in The Green Chairs, Double Shot, Euro Bar, Diamond Bar, Elephant Plaza outside Bar, Ting Tong Red & others.
There may be life in the auld Gal yet....but one swallow never made a cummer.

It might be best for you to switch to Singha for a while.

Sunee is like the terminal cancer patient who rallies briefly just before the final demise

Looking at that pic of Boyztown, in the other thread,I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few people are avoiding that area and cumming to Sunnee

Good point gere. Jomtien Complex not busy last night. High season may be drawing to its end early this year

I'll consider that idea.
But things are looking good with what I'm on at the moment and I'm scared that there might be a remote chance in this land of Karma that cause and effect might intrude on reality, if indeed it is reality.

Euroboys is most lively and busy now. Double Shot is most modern.

Some pics from Sunee (past week)

On my recent trip, I went to Double Shot every evening (almost) for their Happy Hours. Good value, but service was a little patchy. Still, a nice bar.

I had a look mid January...in fact I went three times. I found it OK....some bars were doing well enough, I had a look inside Winners and Nice; Not heaving with punters but busy enough to .make the bars enjoyable. Nice seemed to get busier later than Winners... but that is just an impression.
If only the area near Krazy Dragon could be enlivened by a functioning bar and bright lights. First impressions count and that walk from Soi VC to Double Shot must put potential punters off.

Double Shot bar is bright and lively. I guess if it was to close, the area would become dead.

Prompted by the photo above, I have a quick question for those who frequent Double Shot (I've never been in it):

Is the industrial blue lighting intended to attract and zap the Sunee flies (like in a food shop) or to discourage the patrons from shooting up (like in a public toilet)?

Just asking like.

I always sat at an outside table, so wasn't really aware of the blue lighting. There were very few bar flies about, so make of it what you will.

I always sat at an outside table ...My favourite form of (in)activity, almost reminiscent of that old song "Standing on the corner, watching all the boys go by"

I am reminded of a passage in Joe Ackerley's famous book about his relationship with his father (My Father and Myself) in which he describes the pleasure his father took in sitting outside Parisian cafes, watching the world go by. He would particularly enjoy the pastime on days when there was a dog turd on the pavement in front of the cafe, the fun being to see who stepped in it first.

The blue lighting is simply a fashion statement and, in reality, not as harsh as the photos.
If anything, the placement of the chairs makes it awkward to get in and out of them.
Next time in Pattaya, give it a try; the drinks are very reasonable during happy hour and the boys will attend to you if one likes that.

But the wine is much more expensive than comparable bars and not included in happy hour prices.

Quite right, on Sundays Double Shot is closed and the area becomes quite dead.

At past Sunday DS was closed as usual, but Euroboys was packed in full even before 10 pm. I visited Sunee 5 days and all 5 days Euroboys was only full packed bar in area.

Green Bar (Plastic Chairs) also is doing a good business. Most of the patrons seem to prefer the companionship of other farang and not particularly looking for Thai companions. And it is a good vantage point to watch the action on the Soi.

Is Green bar located on T-cross opposite to Euroboys/Diamond and Double Shots? If so: yes, I saw groups of expats (3-4 persons) there every evening.
