So here's Joe's stupid question of the day. (I'm going to limit this to one thread after good advice from SG)

There's a plethora of pigeons (that means a flock) that fly around outside my living room window. I love to watch them swoop and dive. But do they ever crash into each other, and one ends up with a broken wing? Or do they have an innate sense of distance, and keep just far enough from their mates to avoid a collision?

Maybe this will answer your question, Joe. Interesting. http://earthsky.org/earth/how-do-flocking-birds-move-in-unison

No idea. I know if they're migrating they fly in a V shape, and rotate positions, as it helps break headwing as a whole.

I don't think that's piegeons though.

Put some traps out, catch them, and eat them. Pigeons are delicious. Difficult to cook, but excellent if you cook them right.

You're talking about geese Matt, that's how they fly. But the pigeons aren't going anywhere, they're just flying around in loose circles.

Remove the legs and confit them. Roast the breasts on the bone. Serve pink.

Oh yeah, geese. Sorry, that's what I meant. Apparently I've been out of Canada too long.

I'm still for the idea of a slow broil on them while brasing them in butter with some nice herbs.

bob that was an awesome video (can I say awesome even though I'm not North American?) Hard to believe it's a natural phenomenon.

SG we all know that was back when Adam was a lad. I said, Adam was a lad, not Alan Ladd!
