Murdered farang at View Talay Update....

All of us living in Pattaya/Jomtien and many others will recall the recent news story of the gay farang murdered in View Talay...The two boys were caught on
the hallwall cameras and shown entering with the farang and later leaving his condo..He was brutally murdered and the boys stole a few things
which fetched something under 10,000B...

I had wondered what happened to the two boys, arrested by the police at the orange chairs in gay section of Jomtien beach, and if they had been
executed or not.. I heard yesterday that the case never went to trial since the boys confessed, and one was given 5 years with a couple of years off
if good behavior and the other something like 20 or 25 years.. The lighter sentence went to the boy who didn't do the actual murder and he might be
free in 2 or 3 years if he is a good boy and other who did the deed got the heavier sentence.. From what I have heard, a couple of years in a Thai
prison is no picnic, especially if you are young and small..

I couldn't make any sense out of the village idiot's update on the American farang arrested at the old Diamond Pub in Sunee for getting caught with
his pants down and a full condom in a short time room with a 17 y.o... Did he get killed in prison or did he pay off and get loose?? Anyone literate know what happened to him??

I think the two poor boys should be pardoned and released immediately.

You know, there could be cultural differences at work here. I visited a Thai village once and talked to some monks; they told me that some Thai boys believe that murder is atually helping the victim reach nirvana more quickly.

So, I don't think we should be so quick to condemn murderers, as they may actually just be trying to help out -- in their own cultural way.

This forum is a very small world with a small percentage of visitors to Thailand reading or taking part in the discussion topics. How many people here ever went to the restaraunt mentioned as being for sale or go there on a regular basis. The rumour was corrected and that is that - you cannot say that it is bad for business. I also don't think the likes of Throb have been damamged by sale rumours, and apparently that rumour is true.

About a year ago I put onto this board that an underage boy was working the Royal Garden Plaza shortly after he was released from Rayong Boys Home. I also cautioned that the boy was trouble and he had a violent history - the reason he was in the Home.

This was slated by the usual Hydra Heads as being unimportant and why worry.

The boy then went on the join with two others and carry a series of shakedowns of farangs who went with the boy who then suddenly re-appeared with his two friends at the farangs hotel demanding money.

That was the youngest of the two boys now incarerated for murder.

A pity that so many posters thought the information to be insignificant and carried on using the 'services' of the boy.

There was a fairly comprehensive thread around the start of this year ( if my memory serves me correct) on the robbing of punters who had used the 'services' of underage boys.

Like most warning about these situations the thread was buried by the trolls who for reasons of their own and you must draw your own conclusions as to why, preferred the subject to dissapear.

Many of the punters in Pattaya are playing a dangerous game knowingly or otherwise with some boys with fairly violent histories. However as previous warnings have been treated with contempt I now no longer bother to post specific warnings as I have far better uses for my time.

The hydra heads obviously have their own reasons to bury such warning and the fact that in doing so they may jepordise the safety of others appears to be of less concern than their own self indulgent interests.

I know of two regular posters to this board who have been scammed for large sums of money through using underage services so maybe they or their alta-egos would rather the subject be kept off the boards.

Not every gay who goes to Thailand reads this site nor those who do could really identify a potential blackmailer/killer unless they actually saw a photograph of the lad.

Some of the blackmail schemes that have happened in Pattaya (including to a friend of mine) have involved a boy just a month short of 18, have been well organised and involved a supposed policeman ( who could even be genuine as we all know)..and farangs will pay up as it's the easiest way out.

It's a shame some of the NGO's who are so vigilantly protecting children don't also help weed out some of the vile corruption involving locals and quite high-up Thai officials. But then a farang bust makes for much better sensational headlines in the sleazy tabloids.

I still haven't forgotten my recent trip on a airline flight out of Thailand where a well known female "child protection" advocate sat next to me after her week's conference in Bangkok , regaled me with tales about the "pedos" invading Thailand, made highly and defamatory remarks about one of Pattaya's finest protectors of orphans and HIV victims , slandered a well known and prominent Catholic priest who has saved hundreds of young lives from destitution, got revoltingly drunk and then grabbed my crutch and tried to kiss me...this was a sexual assault which I could have reported and destroyed her career over. The only benefit was that when the vile ratbag passed out from 8 mini bottles of red wine I got the flight attendent to upgrade me to business class after threats of lawsuits.

Now I hear via a reliable grapevine that she has been at work again in Bali and many of us had prior knowledge that this story was about to burst forth :

The fact that not gay every visitor to Thailand reads these boards is not a justification for trolls burying a thread that could act as a warning for those that do. You do not have to know who the boy is but need to be aware when/where these scams are in operation and at least you are then on the alert.

I agree with you 100% in regretting that NGO's although they have the information on corruption involving high profile names are not able to use it.

All NGO's working in Thailand are controlled by the very strict and non-negotiable parameters set by the Thai government. Stepping outside of those parameters often leads to immediate expulsion for the country and in some cases the NGO's have been stopped from working in the country.

So the risk of having work stopped for exposing corruption, which we all know will not have any effect on those involved, only puts more ( in our case) children at risk as their support is withdrawn.


As I have said for a long time I feel that the few questionable NGO's that seem to be in Thailand on a mission to expose child abuse do their cause little good. The blood, thunder and bible brigade appear to have their own agenda which is more about justifying the continuance of the donations they receive for their organisations than actrually protecting the kids. They have often established a comfortable lifestyle which they need to justify if it is to continue.

As you point out, your friend was vistim of a scam involving a boy a month short of his 18th birthday. That is in Thai law still enough justification to take action again the client and obviously makes it easier to extract funds from the 'offender'.

The scams are sophisticated and run for a short period until the boys become known which is when they start freelancing again and get the taste for the riches they were getting during the scams. A little bit of resistance from the client and violence kicks in with the tragic consequences that we have seen.

The problem with the generalisation 'NGO' is that it is not specific enough to even guess at what organisation people are referring to.

Oxfam, Save the Children, The American Red Cross, The British Red Cross, Cancer Research, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Unesco, Unicef, The Joint Disasters Committee all are NGO's and there are thousands more that do a worthwhile job without needing to use the blood & thunder approach.

There are also those that have very commendable targets as their projects but who go about things in a way that alienates various sections of the population. In the end the reputation of any NGO is down to how those in the field work and interact with people no matter the colour, creed or status in society of those people.

Maybe if anyone has a specific complaint about the way an NGO operates then they should name them and specify the nature of the complaint. Without being brought to book for the way some of their staff operate they will never be able to rectify their mode of operation.
