Havent seen this place advertised for years.

Well they appeared to be running when I walked past 6 months ago. The external branding is toned down somewhat, since they are surrounded by the Taliban look alikes.

It is open though the owner is seldom there and as Sunee is at the end of its run can't be sure how long the questhouse will stay open.

The owner was there every time I stayed (last stay about 3 weeks ago), however not throughout the day (i.e. there might be staff at reception and owner away, but I see him at reception at least once a day when I stay there).

Might give this place a go when I come back.
The only thing concerning me is the young guys of Middle Eastern background, particularly with their motorbike riding.
Mind you its not a new thing and has been happening since I first visited Pattaya back in 2004.
I know there are "apologists " out there who bury their head in the sand and call you are a racist if you were to complain about it but that is one of my concerns staying in this area, particularly walking to and from Sunee Plaza.

I have to say that I have never seen any negative side to the young Arabs except for the speeding motor bikes and all their loud talk.
They seem to be typical youngsters letting off steam and doing things with the girls that they can't do at home.
They take over the bowling at Tops (Pattaya Clang) also but they're well behaved there.
I've never experienced homophobic from them but I have seen it coming from the Russians.
I admit that I have never shared condominium buildings with them.

I stayed at Two guys a couple of weeks ago. For me it is a good place to stay. There is a morning breakfast group that is good company. Aek the manager is efficient. The rooms are simple and clean. Etc...

I have not stayed there for years, since the bedding & bathroom used to be rather manky. However, for that best to follow more recent reviews.

The rooms at the back facing away from the road were quieter.

If you're after a budget place, check if The Flamingo is still running. Has a quieter location.

The Flamingo definitely reopened.

However in the last year or so, I have no idea how they market the place, since their website is down and they no longer seem to be listed on the main booking sites. Where they are listed, there is no room availability.
Yet, they were open & doing business a few months ago, when I was last in Pattaya. How long they will carry on for is another question.
