I've been hearing that there's a new "scheme" in the works for owning real estate in Thailand: adding another layer of ownership by an off-shore holding company. Anybody here know more about this?
Also heard that wealthy Thai's are beginning to move ownership of their property outside Thailand, in anticipation that property taxes will be introduced for the first time in Thailand as a new revenue source.
This is something I heard, and I have no way to verify any of this since I'm not on the ground in Thailand at the moment. Was just hoping to get some verification of this info either way. Personally, just about everything I hear and see points to renting as a better option.
