The SNP was left reeling last night after a senior activist admitted that Scotland could not survive alone. Guy Scottish, a long standing member of considerable respect made the comments on a well read and highly influential internet forum. Writing on Sawatdee Network Mr Scottish said.

" We (Scotland) are too small, too poor, and too stupid to be independent."

This will no doubt be seen as a kick in the teeth for the tens of SNP party workers trudging up and down the street trying to shore up the party's falling support. Rubbing salt into the wound Mr Scottish, a former dyed-in-the-wool Independence supporter went on to compare Scotland to Luxembourg, one of the world's smallest countries.

"196 countries in the world manage it with varying degrees of success (including tiny Luxembourg with a total population smaller than our second largest city) but Scotland, despite being rich in natural resources is uniquely incapable of surviving."

Neither Alex Salmond nor Nicola Sturgeon have commented on Mr Scottish's intemperate comments.

Over a week since the story broke and there has still been no comment from anyone within the SNP regarding Mr Guy Scottish's unguarded remarks. With the Tories set to take seats in the SNPs own backyard the future for Scottish nationalism is looking increasingly bleak.
