Taipei has just had its annual Gay Pride Parade with over 80,000 attending despite a cloudy day and slight rain (see aussie_'s excellent pics in the Gay World thread). Guys came from all over Asia and maybe further afield just to be part of what is East Asia's largest fun gay outing. Why can't Bangkok mount a Pride Parade with at least some guys in real traditional costume? I think it could become a hugely popular event.

Sorry for being negative, but these costumes don't to anything for me. I just don't know where to slip my hands in or under, and how many more layers of fabric there are before I reach skin. Just give me simple underwear/boxers/shorts.

There used to be photographer's studio at the entrance of the Royal Garden producing sepia photos using Thai (and Khmer) costume. I have a beautiful one of my boyfriend from 2005 which remains my favourite....I've always loved seeing guys in traditional costume. Particularly him.
I used to enjoy the Thai dances in costume that Wild West Boys put on for a (sadly ) short period about seven years ago.

Warning/explanation: these are not really the general traditional costumes for everyday life, but most likely specials for shows, exhibitions and drama-plays. or perhaps for the servants of some nobles.
Best known for male traditional is the phaakamaa (aka as sarong in Malay, longyi in Burmese), which should be checkered pattern-and thats about it. Someone, either on this or the well-known other forum, posted a week or 2 ago a very sensual pornhub movie about m2m Thai massage done in a traditional house, where these sarongs got off in the course of playing. in fact thats what I would indeed like a lot to happen.

Farmers nowadays are a lucky lot, with the best sunscreens of the highest SPF easily available at the nearest 7-eleven.
Or perhaps the model scouts should scour deeper into the east & south provinces for darker skin men.

getting a gogo/massage boy to slip on a non-traditional too-short phaakamaa and pose in a rice field does not suddenly turn him into a "farmer with real muscles and sinews honed out of sheer work" - the hairstyle is a dead giveaway to start with!
