Pokemon Go has been launched in Thailand

http://www.bangkokpost.com/tech/local-news/1054445/pokemon-go-launched-in-thailand

With the launch of Pokemon Go in Thailand, expect to see these spontaneous get together events throughout Bangkok and beyond. The launch was sooner than expected. True CEO Suphachai Chearavanont said on July 21 the game would be launched in September.

This would actually be quite fun to do with Leo. He's constantly bitching at me to get outside and walk with him any way.

Too bad it's only available to "trainers" right now (whatever that is), and doesn't mention when it'll be available to average end users. Just checked the Google Play Store, and only a bunch of guide books available from the looks of things.

And doesn't say where in Thailand it'll be available. Only Bangkok, or do us folks up here get it too?

I guess some people are just not the tech expert/nerd they think they are

the final counts are still being done to determine which upcountry areas have earned the right to get it

What??? It's a cartoon designed to entertain 6 year olds. My apologies for not knowing everything there is to know about it.

Well, Good News for you and Leo. Apparently, from the Twitter posts I've seen....Pokemon Go is indeed alive and well in Khon Kaen.
From the gatherings I've seen "pop-up" in Vancouver, the groups are mainly young adults and older and these are social meet up's so.....

Yeah, I figured it out. "Your device is not compatible with this version". That's why I couldn't see it in the Play Store.

And I'm not buying a new tablet just to wander around after Pokemon, so that idea is in the garbage. We can stick to badminton. :)

It's a phone game, you load it into your phone and then head out to bump heads with other, like minded hotties.

Well, phone or tablet, same thing. Android based device, and both can run the same apps. My tablet is just too old.

Works on Leo's phone though, so maybe give it a try tomorrow.

Tonight spoke with a bar boy in Pattaya who made mention of Pokemon in Pattaya. For me I have no idea what it is all about and couldn't care less.

I'm thinking, one day if you should stumble upon a delicious collection of young men all gathered together in one spot and wonder what they are doing all simultaneously with their phones. If one knew the location of the Pokemon Stop before the gang arrived, that might allow enough time to get naked and smothered in peanut butter beforehand...or something along those lines. LOL

The way I see it is, I'm not getting out of having some young, energetic Thai guy hauling me around the streets. So if I'm stuck wandering around sweating my ass off for hours a day, might as well hunt down some Pokemon (and maybe catch some decent eye candy) instead of just admiring the motorcycle repair shops. :)

Well done Surfcrest for seeing the potential of this game. Remember collecting cards? That last elusive one be it Pele, Joe DMaggio, the Harley Davidson or whatever you were collecting. What we need is the must have wave in your friends face Pokemon who is found only on naked days in gay saunas.

How long before an enterprising bar owner includes a Pokemon Go competition in his floor show, inviting the punters to find out which boy has got a Pokemon hidden in his shorts?

You misheard him - he said he wanted to Poke-A-Man - and he meant YOU!!

I had to dodge Asian tourists playing Pokemon Go and wandering around glued to their phones out front of Central Festival Pattaya last night. It is a bit of a hazard if you get in their way but if they are good looking twinks I do not mind if they bump into me. The two Thai guys I went to the Esarn club with last night are already addicted and played Pokemon all the way in the taxi down second road and the walk to the club. The opening of the whiskey bottle stopped the Pokemon chasing and still takes higher priority than playing the game, for now at least.

And it has caught on with young and old, educated and not-so-educated. Two of my friends are quite addicted, one even posts screenshots on facebook.

And then two days ago (Fri 12.08.2016), in Sri Mueang Park in Rayong, I came across a congregation of about 50 locals, sitting on the floor or on their mocy or leaning on the fence, all playing with their mobile. It took me a few seconds and a few looks over shoulders onto their screen to realize what was going on.

And it has reached X-Boys show in Pattaya. One boy was looking into the other boy's underwear searching for a pokemon.
