I'm planning a trip to Europe next month, starting in Croatia, then heading to Austria and Krakow in Poland. After that, who knows? I could end up anywhere.

Well, from what I saw last year in Europe, the sex scene was nothing to write home about, especially when compared to what is available in Thailand. So I'm not expecting much, but I'll give it my best shot, so to speak.

I've just been to Vienna and it was relatively quiet. The ancient sauna,Kaiserbrundl, in the middle of the old town that is invariable advertised as the best in Europe should, IMHO, be avoided at all costs. It's dead. I went twice, once was a Saturday evening, and it was empty. I think it's marketed to tourists, and locals don't go there. It's a great setup, but it's empty.

The best site/app I found was planetromeo/gayromeo. By far. Grindr was ok. Jack'd was good for local and visiting Asian guys :-)). Hornet was also ok but not for locals. This would apply to all of the cities I visited in Europe on my vacation that is ending now in Budapest.

The best apps can vary from country to country. Be prepared to experiment at the start of your trip. But I would suggest Planet Romeo & Grindr to start with.

One important point, unlike Thailand, in Europe escorts do tend to advertise in the Gay Romeo escort section. Which has the advantage that you can get straight to the point, if that's what you want. It was a let down. I arrived just after 10pm on Friday. Friday night turned out to be a special event for the launch of Mr Bear Hungary so the place was full of bears. Not my scene. There was a single stripper who came on at about 1am and was bored and disinterested for the entire 1 song he performed for. He had a nice body but It was a boring act. I left at about 2am. I didn't bother to go back Saturday night as I didn't think it would provide much more to see.

The bar itself is a nice concept. The viewing station behind the urinals is a great idea.

I'd go back again, but arrive later than 10, closer to midnight and knowing what the nights entertainment would be.

That's ok. I think it was just bad timing to go there when it was a bear pit. And I don't give too many places second chances.
It was your review of the place that made me want to go there and I'm sure on a different night in a different set of circumstances it would be a hot mess of sexy men and turn out the way you experienced it. Just another reason to come back to Budapest.
