Just heard of this place today actually.
Have a friend from the UK asking me if I knew it, I hadnt , but on googling it , it does look interesting.
Not sure if any Tour Guides work Mong La.

Apparently a great Gay scene there.

Another very confusing headline! "Dangerous" - yet "a great Gay scene there"? So what is it? A place to avoid or a place to enjoy?

Seems to be a lawless place in the Golden Triangle exclusively for Chinese gamblers and best known for its drug trafficking, selling of endangered animals, seedy casinos - and AK47 toting rebels. According to the UN, this region is second only to Afghanistan in the production of heroin. It is also Asia's main source of metamphetamine. No doubt you will report back after you visit it for its "great Gay scene"!

Based on who that post was from and his "form" I'm guessing a thread just better deleted in case some poor fool actually takes it seriously and decides to try and visit !

I'm not sure I agree that deletion is necessary. After all, the title makes it clear it's a "dangerous" place. And I suspect it's more than unlikely that anyone would even consider going there once they have read the follow-up post or done further simple research. Better to leave it there as a warning.
