Cambodia restores passenger trains service "Phnom Penh - Sihanoukville". Now only for 9 days - for Khmer New Year. 8 hours, 261 km , $6. Quite slow, but cheap.

They need to speed that service up.
Mini buses supposedly make the trip in about half that time, although my only experience was with a full sized bus.

Yes, that's true. But also true is: price is twice higher - $12.

Most of us westerners would happily pay the extra $6 to save 4 hours on the trip.
Whilst I do like a nice train ride, as the tracks are probably very poorly maintained, I expect the ride is very rough.
6 hours on nice smooth track would be an interesting experience.
8 hours of being shaken about is less attractive.
