If you look to the right side columns, you will see that we have our Social Media window to our Sawatdee Network Facebook and Twitter pages.

When you log in to Facebook or Twitter and are visiting our site, you'll see the News Feeds from our Sawatdee Network Facebook and Twitter pages. The Facebook page is just starting up and features what's going on in Thailand and South East Asia and what might be of interest for you to read. This gets updated a few times each day with some of the less time sensitive things happening in Thailand. There's no need to give us any Likes, this is more about providing you the Articles you might be interested in if you're in South East Asia...or planning to go.

Our Twitter News Feeds are more time sensitive, including what's going on today or even right now. I try to find the information you might like to plan your trip or even your day with. We'll also have whatever great photos and Articles that are relevant to Thailand or Gay Thailand. You don't need to follow us, but you're more than welcome if you like. We already have over eighty followers and contributors to some of the freshest information on Thailand and Asia.

I'll be providing some additional information on Twitter and Facebook to allow you to expand to these pages if you like, for more information on Thailand and Gay Thailand without giving away your personal privacy. Some of you may be very interested in some of the great amateur links available through Twitter of the boy's Twitter activities, seeing as how popular it has become in gay circles.

We'll get to that in future posts, for now I'd just like to introduce you to our Social Network and to welcome you there too!

Since I made the above post a week and a half ago, we've increased our Twitter Followers now to 112 and growing. If you have a Twitter account and are familiar with the network of gay Thai boys with Twitter accounts, you'll know that there are some very interesting feeds out there to follow. Especially some of the boys with their amateur postings of themselves, their friends and their interests.

One of my Twitter pals who provides some bar updates, including the odd video of some of the shows follows many of these great local feeds.

If you don't have Twitter, it's pretty easy to set up for yourself.

Here are some great examples of some hot local feeds in Thailand you may be interested in:

https://twitter.com/veerapongzaza

https://twitter.com/Gaybai14

https://twitter.com/SakkarnC

https://twitter.com/begaythai

https://twitter.com/winn_11

https://twitter.com/boy_za1

For more suggestions, check out who they are following to refine your search for what you are interested in...it's the wild west of amateur posting, for now.

That being said, I'm sure you'll find boys to follow...no matter what your tastes are.

Sawatdee Network is not responsible for the content of any of these Twitter Feeds, other than our own.

What a change from the previous regime - when personal safety dictated you'd have to log out of EVERYTHING before visiting this site lest the dots in your identity might somehow be joined up by a malevolent owner (or, more likely, somebody smart on his behalf)

As I mentioned before, whether you sign up for Twitter, surf these feeds or visit our Twitter page for the latest updates as to what's happening all around now in Thailand, your privacy is completely respected. You don't need to Follow Us or worry about us Following You, unless you request that.

It's about providing you, our members a faster source of information than the Forum from the relevant Feeds we're following. It's also our way of "getting out there" so that like minded people who are interested in traveling to Thailand or even retiring here someday know where to find us, if they want to be a part of our conversation.

Already, I've noticed the increase in traffic and the increase in new members signing up. As such, we may want to lower our troll detector settings a tad, so that we don't scare away any new perspective members.

Might I suggest that now is perhaps a good time to change the site's name? There was a thread some months ago about how Sawadee Network is really quite meaningless. Something more obviously Thai and gay would surely help garner more viewers.

It can include people places things to see or do

On a slight tangent, one of the things I find so off-putting on social media/dating apps - well, I'm like Francois, I don't twit and I'm one of the handful who has no Facebook account - is the number of pretty dire photos on sites like Hornet, Jack'd, even Line etc. It really does seem that some guys believe all they have to do is put up an old photo in which their face is barely visible and the youth of Asia will come flocking. Don't people realise that your photo on those sites - unless you deliberately want to keep it in the private section for some reason, although even there it should have some positive, defining characteristics - is effectively your calling card? The better it looks and the more enticing the profile, the better your chances of success so the saying goes. Unless, of course, money is part of the equation when you can look like Godzilla if you want.

A photographer who specialises in taking photos for dating sites gives the following do's and dont's in an article in the Guardian -

Don’t:
Use blurry photos
Use the flash on your camera (unless you’re a pro)
Choose a poorly lit shot
Have more than one person in the shot
Use a photo with your ex cropped out of the shot
Use a photo with a messy background
Choose a photo where your face can’t be clearly seen *
Do:
Be the main focus of the photo
Head outdoors and find the light
Wear clothes that are representative of who you are **
Include props to help showcase elements of your personality
Embrace colour
Choose a location that works for you
Choose a photo where you look happy, relaxed and natural
https://soulmates.theguardian.com/blog/advice/dos-and-donts-for-choosing-stand-out-dating-profile-photos#.V143e9aRBhI

Obviously there are exceptions -
* If you look like Uncle Albert (i.e. Albert Steptoe for those old enough to remember the TV series), blurred is no doubt much more appropriate.
** If you are in your prime with a body to match, no clothes are no doubt better than some. But how many of us fit into that category??

It isn't most bright idea to change name: site will lose traffic from search engines...

You are suggesting change of name . Type in Thailand gay and you will see the potential
No reason why you cannot have many links, including sawatdee

As earlier discussed, many younger guys around the world will have no idea what the word Sawadee means or that it is associated with Thailand. Secondly, Network makes the site sound like a broadcasting outfit. Looking at the first 50 google hits here in Bangkok using "gay" and "Thailand", SGN comes in at #6 - BUT it relates merely to a story somewhere on the site starting "Gay Thailand and Gay Asia News Blog ... Communication with Thai boys can be cumbersome, and sometimes I don't know if he is logged off, reads my ..." In other words, it is not an accurate description of the site for it implies it is merely a blog.

When I reverse the two words, SGN comes in at #7, but the description is even more odd - "Communication with Thai boys can be cumbersome, and sometimes I don't know if he .... Issue 76 out now Issue 76 of http://www.thaipuan.com/ Thailand's gay ..."

Compare that with gaythailand.com which clearly states this "GayThailand.com is your information source for gay Thailand, gay Asia, gay Pattaya, gay Chiang Mai, Gay Phuket, gay Bangkok and the gay scene in Thailand." and I'd suggest this would be the site most guys would automatically refer to.

If it is really going to attract those considering coming to Thailand, I'd further suggest there has to be something in the google search description making it clear that SGN is the site to go to - not a plug for a blog or a Thai gay magazine!
