This gay article reports 3 of the main bars in Bangkok, but is interesting that it also mentions a new bar in Soi 4 and the other,App Arena a large bar located at Ratchadapisek Soi 8.

I have not heard of this bar, they were the only farang there and attracted interest. Looking at their video it might be their bodies, but I would like to hear more

I've been with Thai friends to one of the large bars in Ramkhamhaeng which I suspect is very similar to App Arena in Ratchadapisek Soi 8. A young in-tone faring might just attract some interest, but unlikely. These bars are for Thais to socialise with their friends. Almost all go in groups and have no interest in farang. If you go, take ear plugs as the volume of the music will be brain-shatteringly loud!

App Arena isn't a bar, it's a disco and a typical Thai one at that. It can be fun, but best enjoyed with a group of friends and a bottle of whiskey to share. If that and loud music isn't your thing, you probably won't have fun. Not bad for hooking up, but more of the "both of us were drunk, what the hell were we thinking?" kind. As already mentioned, not many foreigners.

AppArena closed down in Soi 8 in May last year!

App re-opened on Ratchada Soi 4 around 6 months ago

I wonder are these guys the types that write about places that they have never been?

Pics from App on Soi 8 @ Songkran last year

There are too many of these around - and too many gay blog writers who include such info without making even basic checks.

Their old content gets recycled on an on-going basis

The title says "share their top five gay bars", and the post is centered on gay bars and discos mainly frequented by tourists.

Over the last 5 years, the Ramkhamhaeng scene declined and now there is nothing left. All gone! (Unless you count Meeting Karaoke, I had look a few times over the year and never spotted a significant number of customers.)

You might get some attention as a Farang, I certainly do when I walk through, or use the bathroom more often than necessary, or linger around outside after closing. But I can't remember when anything interesting evolved from this.

For me, it's "No earplugs, no disco", same as "no condom, no fuck".

As far as I can judge, the Nomadic Boys have been to the places they write about.

The article must be old (App Arena moved), but I didn't find the original article on the web.
