I haven't had much luck booking with them by email.

A telephone call works much better and they are quick to get back if the phone is busy when you call.

I booked them through email earlier this year with no problem. Maybe Surfcrest was unlucky or I was lucky.

Earlier this year I flew in and out of U Tapoa several times

It was a relief to have someone meet me coming in, as the taxis at U Tapoa are often booked out. Also it is not easy to get a good car to go to u Tapoa from pattaya

I rang the day before and they were there, no hassle. Since using them for the first time last year to go to BKK

I have used them all the time. Prior to that I used the Cafe Royale cars

If you mention to Rob the owner, your a friend of mine you may even get a nice discount, prices start at around 2000 baht from and to the airport ask for discounts.

...

Goodness me that is reasonable, my hotel charges me that for a German limo from the airport to Bangkok. And it's what I believe is the going rate for an ordinary taxi to Putty-Yah from there too. Are you sure?

If you look closely you'll see this is another resurected thread (from 2005). Even so, 2,000 baht from Bangkok to either airport is OTT. I always get asked for this too, but when I say no I'll get a meter taxi the price drops to 700 baht. A meter taxi is about 350 baht.

What's more amazing is it seems to have been a sober posting from LMTU!

I'll add a renewed recommendation for Mr. Toom's taxi service. All inclusive fare from Pattaya to Bangkok (hotel or airport) or north to south was Bt 1,200 in February and June - I'd suppose it's the same now.

They emailed to say where they'd have a sign up for me at the airport and included a diagram to make the meeting spot clear. For reference they're invariably at your hotel 30 minutes ahead of the set time but aren't unhappy to wait in the lobby.
