Sakura is the cherry blossom in Japan; there are similar flowering trees in Thailand.

At the moment (every year end of Feb to begin of Mar), Tabebuia rosea https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabebuia_rosea is in bloom at Kamphaeng Saen campus (Nakon Pathom province) of Kasetsart University (and elsewhere in Thailand, but this is the most famous). About 100 km by road from Sathorn, took me 3 hours by public transport. The majority is rather pale pink.

In the north of Thailand (Loei, Chiang Rai), there are real cherries (Himalayan Cherries) in bloom around January.

(technical question: When I view the pictures on my computer, they are with date stamp horizontally. Why are they turned here?)
