Meanwhile, on the resort island of Phuket, a Chinese tourist was bitten on the nose by a python while leaning in to kiss it on the head while visiting a snake show over the weekend, The Bangkok Post newspaper reported Monday.

A video of the incident was widely shared on social media, showing the snake striking at the woman's face as a loud scream is heard. Thai media reported that the woman received eight stitches and then flew home.
Just another question regarding building Suvarnaphumi Airport where it is, and stupid things Chinese tourists do on holidays in LOS.

(Oops ... I missed the edit cut off time)

NOTICED: Way down on the lowest floor of the airport, i.e. the Bangkok METRO floor, what was once a large empty cavernous area is now filling up with small restaurants, snack bars, 'real' bars, and coffee shops.
It seems that this makeover has not yet reached it's tentacles into the general population as in all of the other places upstairs which are notoriously full of customers, full of waiting customers, and held hostage to a great fence of empty and full airport baggage carts in front of all possible entrances to each and every eatery.

But, down there, in the dungeon, the chairs and tables are plentiful and delightfully semi-emply.
I gather this is the case because, frankly, most folks leaving the airport take buses, taxis, limos, shuttles etc etc. Most never give the train a chance ... and thus never go down lower than floor 1.
But if have a long wait for your plane, or getting off the train and get hungry(as I did today), the eateries in the basement call for you. The prices are somewhat less as well.

I note the airport authorities issued a statement saying "...clear and strict measures have been imposed to prevent all poisonous animals from slipping into the airport...."

Meanwhile there is to be a debate in the UK Parliament along the same lines:

Also worth noting that a better rate of foreign exchange can be had down there. If you go down the escalator as though you are getting the city line train, to the left of the ticket office are two kiosks, one either side of the taped up escalator down to what used to be the fast train. Both kiosks have a better rate than the uniform rates available in the airport itself. The kiosk on the left is run by Superrich, which has other exchange outlets in town and is rarely beaten on its rates.

We missed another chance to deepen Canadian-German friendship and mutual cultural understanding! I came back today via Suwarnaphumi and took the CRL (express Line has been abandoned, and it didn't make much sense anyway).

The CRL was quite full, a lot of tourists used it, and it's my preferred way to get to and from airport.

I don't know of any bus other than 389 "sex tourist express" to Pattaya that passes the terminal building. However there is a bus station a few km apart, with free shuttle, that has buses going into Bangkok and other provinces (as far as Nong Khai as I remember).

. . . and keeping it as 'missed' is perfectly fine with me.

The "Sex Tourist Express" sounds great!

I see from their website its 122B per person - but the route is unclear to a tourist like me:

"North and South Pattaya intersection after that our bus will go to the corner of Thepprasit road next to Outlet Mall. Then the bus will go straight to our office on Thappraya road as the last drop off point."

But surely there's no North and South Pattaya road intersection? Central Pattaya Road is in the way! NO?

Anyway - if anybody can figure the route - does it go past BT?

More details please!

The 389 bus goes along Sukhumvit and stops at intersection with North, Central and South Pattaya road, then continues to Jomtien and stops at the parking in front of Food Mart (link below, where they have their booking office and air-conditioned waiting room as well). To go to Boyztown or Sunee you need to change into a songtheo at South Pattaya intersection (10 Baht or walk 5 km); to Jomtien complex it's about 500 m walk from the final stop.

Very convenient if you stay in Jomtien, and even more convenient if you can take a bus to airport bus station (like I did in 2013, bus 554 passed where I stayed at that time).
