Not sure how many of you have been dragged kicking and screaming to the latest Thai "comedy" superstar movie... but I thought this was a nice informative link that put a name to some of the faces:
http://www.keyloom.com/2011/03/08/comic ... elevision/ (http://www.keyloom.com/2011/03/08/comic-actors-in-thai-film-and-television/)

Petchtai and Tukky are of course instantly recognisable

For anyone that has never seen any of the actors in link above... I guess its because your Thai friends:

Hate you and don't want you cramping their style in the cinema [/*:m:bkxafpuk]
Care about you too much to subject you to these movies![/*:m:bkxafpuk]

They are hard to avoid. They also pop up randomly...and frequently...on Thai TV.

Thanks for the link. Will be fun to surprise BF by knowing a name or two. Keeps him wondering how much I know about things. Lol.

In my experience he will assume you have another Thai boy you are seeing as well as him who is teaching you all this stuff. That will certainly be the accusation, although I take that to be the usual "attack is the best form of defence; always out your opposition on the back foot" approach so beloved of Asian culture

Oh, BF knows I remain in contact with some Thai friends. :x Not much to accuse me about with that. LOL

But fun to tweak him a little bit from time to time.

sounds like some people are trying to act hi-so to me!
Like the boys who claim to be Bkk born and bred, until one of their friends spill the beans that they are actually from Nakorn No-where!

I get a kick out of seeing a Thai film every once in a while. Sooo different from anything else. I especially dig the campy comedies...

I see some merit in the comedy sketches-slapstick and farce brings out the child in Thais of all ages. But those f-cking vicious fake-acting "beauties" in the soaps hold all Thais mesmerised. I'm alergic to these TV shows and they remain on my TV only as long as I can get to the remote.

This past year, I saw one Thai film ( with some gay farang friends; my bf refused to go ) that was actually very good. It was the first Thai film I've ever seen that wasn't absolutely horrible.... and..... in fact, it was excellent.

It's called How to Win at Checkers (Every Time) (2015) ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4370256/ )

Although it's not a gay film, per se, much of the story line revolved around gay guys... and even one memorable sex scene in a gay brothel.

I have no idea where it can be downloaded from at this point... It doesn't appear to be on http://kat.cr or https://thepiratebay.gd

I cannot wait to see: "р╕Юр╕╡р╣Ир╕Кр╕▓р╕в My Hero" - or "How To Win At Checkers (Every Time)" - same film with 2 different titles - as per Google.

For months I have searched in vain to see where it can be downloaded (even paying for it) but to no avail - as it is truly locked up.

However, I see that Amazon will release it for sale on DVD on 02-Feb-2106 for $24.95 USD.
So, not too much longer to wait until this film will start circulating on the internet for download.

if anyone knows any shortcuts on how to see it sooner please let me know....

thanks,
m.

Yes. That's the same one I'm talking about. It's probably worth buying it and then sharing it on the internet. If anyone buys it and wants to share it let me know. If not, let me know where to buy it, and maybe I'll buy a copy of it.

In November, I looked in multiple places for a DVD of Red Wine in the Dark Night, but came up empty.

If anyone sees it while out and about in Pattaya, would you let me know. I will be back in early January and would really like to see it.
I have looked around on the Net for a bit, but haven't been able to locate it anywhere on line either, which surprises me.

I can't find a torrent of it..... but I'm still looking.

In the meantime, this is the official trailer and it has English subtitles.

Thanks Bruce. I appreciate you looking, although if you find it, I will also need to know how to use a torrent. :D
