Electricity connections are not always the safest in Thailand as this story (http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1443765461) of a security guard who was electrocuted while pissing near an electricity pole exemplifies.

What do you mean? They look perfectly safe to me:

:)) My favourite Electrocution Centre is a crazed conglomeration of electric wiring as in the photo above (many are even worse) plus this whole mess being located right alongside the stairway going up to a Skytrain station boarding platform. The children just love to reach out and play with the wires.

The children just love to reach out and play with the wires.I usually encourage them to go and play in the traffic

Reminds me at the first house I lived at in KK when I was with Kim. Had a mangled mess of an electric pole like that on our street corner, and it caught on fire one night. Blacked out a good chunk of the area for a while. I felt bad for the electric crews sent out, because you could see them screwing around trying to figure out which wire goes to what, which is dead / live, etc. What a mess.
