Unfortunately I tend to agree. 15 dead by an indiscriminate bombing in the very centre of Bangkok's tourist and high end shopping district could well be the camel's back breaking.
A post on another subject was discussing this very low Thailand tourist season (even for the 'regular' low season). Can't see it getting much better after this.

Oops, newest link above (StraitsTimes) in Up2u's post puts the death toll now at 27. One can only hope the number is wrong (the fog of immediacy and all that), but, a bomb is a bomb and associated horror is horror.
Vicious murderous bastards ...

The big problem will come if foreign governments issue travel warnings that invalidate your travel insurance. Personally, I have no intention of letting terrorists dictate where I holiday but, if I can't get insurance cover, it may be taken out of my hands.

The big problem will come if foreign governments issue travel warnings that invalidate your travel insurance I would guess that it all depends who is responsible for this awful carnage, but yes a negative response from foreign governments will certainly pile on even more misery to ordinary Thais who rely on tourists/visitors for a living. I think I would still travel without the backup of travel insurance and just rely on sheer good luck and credit card(s) with the largest limit in case of emergencies (the normal one's like accidents etc...) As for the specific targeting of foreigners, there is still so much to do and so many places to visit outwith the normal tourist/foreigner areas. I still have a few weeks until my next visit so, like many, i'll be keen to see what happens next.

Bangkok Shrine Bombing: Those Who Died

Seven members of a Malaysian family on holiday visited the Erawan Shrine on Monday evening. Five died in the attack. Earlier this photo was taken of them eating in Bangkok with a local guide. Neoh Ee Ling, second from left, and her father Neoh Hock Guan, third from right, were the only two to survive. Ee Ling's young daughter and husband died, as did Hock Guan's wife. The Junta, following their spiritual leader in Egypt, will undoubtedly use this atrocity-whoever is responsible- further to degrade democracy in Thailand.
