View Full Version : Land of Scams

It wasn't that long ago that Thailand had an enviable reputation as the Land of Scams. Dodgy Boy Scouts, dodgy card games, ... the scams were many and various

While Thailand still has a reputation as a Land of Scams, these days those scams have been extended to include what are known as "boiler rooms (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiler_room_(business))" - hi(gher)-tech scamming. The low tech stuff is possibly more at home in Cambodia, as this report (http://www.khmer440.com/k/2015/08/scambodia-uncovered/) called "Scambodia Uncovered" shows. Same scams, different country

Please expand on the "Dodgy Boy Scouts" - an friend of mine (a former MP and now a peer of the realm) wishes to know where they may be found.

He'd be better advised to pay a mamsan to have all the gogo boys to dress up in Scout uniforms; they'd be just as genuine as the "Boy Scouts" who harassed tourists to make donations around Siam Square. I never saw one near Silom - possibly mindful of losing his virtue to some passing Scottish hebephile
