Has anyone seen the film;

р╕Юр╕╡р╣Ир╕Кр╕▓р╕в My Hero - How To Win At Checkers (Every Time)

http://hotclib.com/X285cmtZRUtwbEFG

I am really looking forward to seeing it. If anyone knows anyway to see it on the internet please let me know as I can't find it showing anywhere here in Italy.

Tonight I saw The Blue Hour - Onthakan, https://www.facebook.com/thebluehour.onthakan
it was difficult to understand as it goes deep into the Thai underworld and I would imagine that I did not understand many things because I still don't understand the Thai obsession with the underworld, ghosts, and spirits....However, I liked the movie.

ok, any leads on My Hero - How to Win at Checkers would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks,

M.

M,

It was one of the feature films earlier this summer at the Bangkok Film Festival. It may still be in the Film Festival circuits,

They have a FB page that seems to be more up to date than their website

Wolfe has the rights so it should get a DVD and VoD release sooner or later

Thanks Surfcrest and Fedssocr,

The links helped to increase my desire to see this film....
unfortunately I cannot see from the links that it is passing through here in Italy and I fear that I must wait until I can buy it on DVD or when it will be posted as a paid streaming option with licensing permissions in Italy (which is often not the case as those wonderful short sighted Hollywood folks don't give us international ex-pats a legal way to see films - even when we want to pay to see them) ....

ok, if either of you see it b4 me let me know what you think. I suspect it will be a gem, like My Bromance was for me......Who knew with the LOS bug that I have that it would also create such desires for Thai cultural films...I'm happy to find myself in this predicament...

cheers,
M.

you need a VPN so you can get around region distribution restrictions.

as much as I rant against the "Hollywood folks" this movie was a small independent production but the local and international distribution of Asian movies (particularly with English or other subtitles) is every bit as useless as it is for a Hollywood blockbuster!

The movie was released to cinemas in Thailand, and international film festivals, with English subtitles so licensing those subtitles for DVD distribution should be a fairly simple exercise but if/when it is picked up for DVD release by a local company it will be at a reasonable local price but no subtitles! a guess at international pricing with subtitles is left as an exercise for the reader!

no - what you need is an international review of copyright laws and a more rational structure for regional availability and pricing but I am not holding my breath - the movie studios and distributors have very powerful lobbyists in the US and elsewhere, just look at what they have achieved with TPP for example!

Wolfe who seems to have picked this movie up for DVD "distribution" - not sure if "exclusive" or for what regions - but they only ship DVDs to the USA and Canada so a VPN will not help much there!

if/when it makes it to their, or other, streaming services a VPN may not be enough - many streaming services now block common VPNs or require a local (eg USA) credit card
