Thai Boyfriend shoots his British lover in South Pattaya

A 67 year old British National was shot in the neck by his Thai Boyfriend in front of a South Pattaya Apartment Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Police and medics were called to the K Apartments in Soi Saitee off Pattaya 3rd Road, close to the Bali Hai Overpass, and attended to Mr. Colin Thomas Gardiner, who was in a semi-conscious state and had lost a considerable amount of blood from the single gunshot wound in his neck.

The alleged shooter, his Thai Boyfriend, Khun Tiradaet aged 33, was arrested nearby after he attempted to flee the scene of the shooting. He was caught with a 38 caliber handgun which is thought to have been used by him to shoot Mr. Gardiner.

Staff at the apartments told Police that Khun Tiradaet had moved-in to the apartment complex 2 days previous to the shooting. Every day his English boyfriend visited him but would not go up to his room. The pair would meet and talk on the ground floor at the front of the complex.

On the day of the shooting the pair met as usual and no raised voices could be heard. Seconds later 2 gun shots were heard and Mr. Gardiner was seen on the ground clenching his neck.

When caught, the suspected shooter told Police that he was angry at the constant comments from Mr. Gardiner regarding his heavy drinking, smoking and regular nights out and wanted him to stop. The comments were relentless according to Khun Tiradaet who lost his temper on Wednesday to the point where he decided to shoot his lover in the neck.

Police do not entirely believe the story but have charged Khun Tiradaet with attempted murder, a charge which could be elevated depending on the health status of Mr. Gardiner, who remains in a critical condition in Hospital at this time.

Some fairly unpleasant comments from readers of the webpage, but par for the course.

Don't know how Sunee got dragged into this.

He was a regular in Sunee for many years and had a large social circle there.

That story was published before the man died. His death has been confirmed. He died approximately 5:30am, Thailand time, Thursday.

The local news media is notorious for failing to publish follow-up stories. At the time of this post, no follow-up story has been published.

This is a shocking tragedy.
Colin was an absolute gentleman-low key, pleasant and not the type to mix with roughnecks or dangerous people.
Looks like this cute little monster fooled him.
I think Colin was ex-British army but I may be mistaken.
As I recall his regular boyfriend used to be Burmese not Thai.
