Some personal remarks I want to make.
It has taken me a long time to see myself as gay in the conventional sense, because most men above 25 are not attractive to me (unless they are Asian; then the upper limit is quite higher).
So I have always thought: "I am a very special kind of gay, because I see gay couples of 40 and 50 who love each other and feel (I assumed) sexually attracted to each other, but I only feel attraction for younger bodies: 16-25 on average". I also do not like muscular bodies, but as good as all gay magazines always spot a well developed muscular guy on their cover. Spartacus never has a twink on its cover. So growing up I always had the idea: I am not gay like other people are gay. I like skinny bodies and above 25 it is fast getting too old for me.
But I soon discovered (by visiting gay saunas, gay clubs and now gogo bars in Thailand) that I am not special at all. My preference is the preference of the majority of gays. Yes of course there are sub cultures (Bears for example) with other preferences, but they are (in my experience) a minority.
So why then do all gay magazines spot a muscular guy around 25-30 on the cover? It doesn't match with what I daily experience. It is not the preference in my view of the majority of gays.
Only the more feminine types go for that. But most gays I know do not act feminine. Do not talk with that 'gay' lisp sound.
More of your guys notice that the covers of gay magazines rarely show a guy you feel attracted too?
