Why are related topics always from 2006 or 2007. With such a changing scene anything longer than a year old should not be considered related.

It's as obvious as teats on a bull - the algorithm that selects "related" topics simply looks for key words in the title of your thread and then finds all the other threads with one or more of those key words in their title - as you can see for the threads that have popped up as "related" to this thread.

kommentariat is quite correct; the "Related Topics" that appear at the bottom of each thread are selected by the search engine based only on the words used in the topic and compared against all other topics in the forum using the same words from most similar to least.

For example, the Related topics for your thread include any thread with the two words "related" and "topic" in the thread. This has taken us to some threads from other years than 2006 / 2007. I would think that the years or months that we've had the most posting activity would be from where most of the "related topics" are coming from, but that is just a guess against the hard science of the search engine.

(Members, as you may remember...Board Business was merged with Sawatdee Gay Thailand at the suggestion of a member. This topic relates to a "Board Business" concern, which is why the thread remains in Sawatdee Gay Thailand forum. Thanks for the watchful eye!)
