View Full Version : Who would you like to have a beer with?

So which member of the forum would you most like to have a beer with? When I'm on holiday I tend to avoid getting into conversation with farangs - that's not why I'm there. But there are a couple of posters I'd sit and have a couple of beers with. NIrish guy is one - in the hope that the boys he rejects will turn to me. Scottish guy because I like his wit. Anonone seems like a genuine nice guy. And Smiles for his wealth of information.

So who would be your choice? (It would be nice if this could be kept civil, but we'll see)

Fun question. But there is a bit of a problem with your motive for drinking with NIrish....you are assuming there is ever a boy that NIrish rejects. Not so sure that has ever happened. LOL

:D

NIrish is fun to drink with though, that is for sure. I agree with Scottish and Smiles as other choices. I would add surfcrest and fountainhall also.

No question of that... The most provocatively entertaining drinking companion - if just for a single session! - would surely be Latintopxxx. For a more cerebral encounter, perhaps Scottish...

If choosing a poster from the past, Boygeenyus always had lots to say (though I guess he must be Mangeenyus by now...)

So funny I pop in here and see this as the newest thread...

I came here to post this...

I'm thinking seriously about starting a regular meetup of guys, mostly from here on the forum.... every other week in Soi Twilight in Bangkok... and the alternate week in Boyztown in Pattaya.

Would some of you come once in a while? I think it'd be so fun to share stories in person.... ;-)

For example, dinner and/or beer at some venue in the heart of it all, like Dick's Cafe in Soi Twilight (Bangkok), and Ambiance in Boyztown (Pattaya).... at around 8pm.... so we'd maybe be winding down by 9 or 9:30pm.... just as boys are arriving and the gogo bars are opening.

I had a beer with Beachlover a few months ago. He is a very sexy Asian man of about 22 or 23. He paid for the drinks
and we had a shag. He's hung and has the body of an Adonis. Never seen a better ass. He left about 10,000b. on
the nightstand as my tip, even though I'm about his grandfathers age and made me promise not to tell. The 5 baht
gold necklace gift was surprising and he drained me dry with his insatiable lust.
Next I will tell you about my drink with badboybilly, but the thought has me vomiting and it will have to wait

I met him once and he brought me back to his hotel and took a load of hot sexy photos of us both doing ALL sorts of naughty things - but alas unfortunately he can't post any as he'd left a sock lying in the corner of the room in one of the shots and was concerned that it might jeopardise his privacy and we could all then find out where he lived and how much he earned etc ( which is WAY more than the amount he tells us and he's MUCH younger and more good looking than even than he admits - and his cock - OH MY GOD don't start me - the guy is hung like a donkey and EVERYTHING ! ) lol

Well, thank you kindly Fran├зois, I assure you the feeling is mutual. And since you will be holed up in Pattaya for longer than usual during your next visit, it might prove a great incentive for me to pop down to Pattaya on a more regular basis than I currently do. But, as IтАЩm a little out of practice in the old imbibing stakes, I think IтАЩll need to get into training mode before meeting up with some of my fellow posters, many of whom seem like a right bunch of hardened boozers. Otherwise, IтАЩm going to be under the table in a very short time!

For example, a couple of weeks ago, I was on the East Coast train to Scotland. I had splurged out on a first class ticket. As the food and drink were included in the cost of the ticket, I thought IтАЩd make the most of it and had two glasses of white wine, which left me completely pie-eyed by the time I arrived at Waverley station! I can tell you my sister was not impressed when she saw I was already three sheets to the wind and we were due to go out for dinner that night! She, by comparison, is a more, erm ... accustomed drinker and couldnтАЩt believe I had drunk only two glasses! I wonтАЩt repeat here some of the expletives she used!

Yes, I agree, having a drink with Scottish-guy would be a bit of a hoot and I'm sure he'd be up for a right old hootenanny. But after my comments above, I think he is more than likely to disown me! So maybe that rules him out. :(

And Jellybean, as he comes across as a really nice guy.
IтАЩve been trying to meet up with a447 for some time, but pinning him down has been somewhat difficult as our schedules havenтАЩt, to date, coincided. And he never seems to hang around in the one spot (or country, so it seems) for very long. A bit like our very own Scarlett Pimpernel. :)

Of course, I would also like to have a drink with the OP, Joe552. How could one not?

I also see that bruce_nyc has suggested, and now set up, a regular meeting for Bangkok expat members and visiting members at DickтАЩs Caf├й in тАШSoi TwilightтАЩ. I hope that it is successful and, if it is, I shall drop in sometime in October.

And then there is NIrish-guy. I can just imagine what hair raising naughtily explicit tales of sex and debauchery he could relate over a drink or three. But I have this image of him frequently disappearing, mid-sentence, after seeing some cute Thai lad and coming back minutes later, excusing himself and wiping his lips. тАЬBut thatтАЩs four times youтАЩve disappeared in the last hour!тАЭ I hear myself protesting. LOL!

Yes, I would be worried about holding his attention for more than a few short minutes at a time. Actually, NIrish reminds me of a friend in London, who invited me and another friend over for a barbeque one Sunday afternoon. We turned up early ahead of the main group as planned. Our friend poured us some drinks and laid out a scrumptious selection of nibbles. But he shocked the both of us by saying he was just popping out for an hour to meet up with a guy on Grindr. And, oh yes, could we cut the grass while he was away and let in and entertain any guests who turned up early! =))

But all of the above may be academic, for me at least. It all depends on Bardarbunga, no, nothing to do with Silvio Berlusconi, itтАЩs the name of a volcano in Iceland. If it erupts, and is severe and long enough to interfere with air travel from the UK, then who knows when IтАЩll be able to make it out. At least this volcanoтАЩs name is pronounceable, who could pronounce the one that erupted in 2010 тАж Eyjafjallajokull?

joe552

Shoot Joe, I had no intent to slight you by not mentioning you by name. I was merely adding some others, who in addition to you, I would like to have a beer with.

Actually I have met several posters already and each one has been fun.

I will be back in Pattaya in a week or so if anyone is around and would like to meet up, that would be great.
I see Bruce has arranged a meet up on Saturday, Sept. 6 in BT, so I will certainly try to make that one. 8 PM is bit earlier then I like to wake up, but I will make the sacrifice :D

I'll be back in Thailand on September 20 and will stay a couple of weeks before heading off to Phnom Penh. So I'm looking forward to catching up with some forum members during that time.
If not, then I'll probably be back in LOS around the middle of October - that is, if some other country doesn't beckon!
And I'd also like to have a beer with you, Joe, as you come across as an interesting and decent guy.
And Jelly, don't worry about keeping up with the drinkers - I don't drink either, so maybe
you and I could sit in the corner and solve the world's problems over a Coke or two...lol

Even if only 3 people shown up, I'm sure it'll still be quite interesting. Beats sitting at Dick's all alone, I hope. ha ha But if 10 show up, well, the more the merrier.

Kinda hard here as I avoid the peak flying season
when flying is way more expensive (christmas/New Year)

Gets a little old talking to your boy of the year about the tenth time
he tells you how he "chop the wood, make the fire, cook the food for the Christmas dance."

Even would be worth it drinking at LCR where the drinks are almost gogo priced.

Don't want to list my favorites to get a drink with and
leave anyone else out, and don't want to scare them off either ;;)

bruce_nyc
August 27th, 2014, 10:17
Ya know..... Stupid American sites are *soooo* prudish. They canceled my meetup.com meetup group because I created a meetup to meet for a beer and talk about gogo bars. Can you believe that!? Idiots in New York.

Apparently it scared them that the godforsaken word, "S_x", was in the name of it...

Forget that there are literally hundreds of groups with the word, " sex " in their name. ( http://www.meetup.com/find/?%2Ffind%2F= ... ter=mysugg (http://www.meetup.com/find/?%2Ffind%2F=undefined&allMeetups=false&keywords=sex&radius=Infinity&userFreeform=10019&gcResults=New+York%2C+NY+10019%2C+USA%3AUS%3ANew+Y ork%3Anull%3ANew+York%3Anull%3A10019%3A40.7686973% 3A-73.99181809999999&sort=recommended&eventFilter=mysugg) )

So apparently, in their infinite idiocy, they decided we were planning to meetup FOR sex..... as opposed to TALKING ABOUT sex. Their automated email said, "This Descision is final." ha ha ha ha They think they are Puritan preachers.

Anyway, it said they refunded me the $73 or whatever... And I created a new group. It's identical to the old group, except: no mention of the S_x word, no photos, only "Let's meetup for a beer." Hopefully beer isn't too sinful for those hypocrite sexually repressed porn producing sex toy manufacturing Americans. ( And yes I am an American. )

End of rant. :-p

So now, if you clear your browser's cache, http://gaysexthailand.com should take you to the new group page, http://www.meetup.com/GayMale/

Don't feel like you must register and RSVP on that site... But it does some helpful reminders of upcoming meetups. Also, if there was ever a last minute change... ( a military coup? ) ..... I can automatically send an announcement blast to everyone ( without me seeing your email address )

But regardless....

Here's what I set up:

Saturday, August 30, at 8:30pm.... Bangkok at Dick's Cafe on Soi Twilight

Saturday, September 6, at 8:30pm.... Pattaya at Ambiance Hotel in Boyztown

Then repeating *every other Saturday*... in each city.

For example,

Bangkok: August 30, September 13, 27, October 11, etc, etc, until the end of time

Pattaya: September 6, 20, October 4, 18, etc, etc, etc, until our pensions run out

Always same location. Always Saturdays at 8:30pm.

So even if the site says only 1 or 2 are coming, don't believe it.... just show up. There'll probably be twice as many actually come as the number who RSVP.

These venues are very small places, but if you show up and aren't sure which table of aging farangs is *this* group.... Just ask the waiter, "Which table is Bruce's Group?". We'll make sure all the waiters know we are "Bruce's Group", in case anyone asks them.

Oh, and if you come with one of your cutest boyfriends, or boy toys, ( as *I* might do from time to time ), be prepared to share. He should be made aware of the Western gay custom of him being passed around the table... from guest to guest .... and he must be polite and not offend anyone.... and go along with the fondling and groping cheerfully.

I have met several posters (from this and other boards), but usually one-on-one. In some cases it took over year to find a place and time that suits both. I think in a group it will get confusing. Nonetheless, I might join the get together Bruce has set up.

Semantics:

"have a beer with" I interpret this in a wider sense "have a drink with" (I don't drink beer unless there is no choice, nor coffee, usually it's fruit juice for me)

"meet for a drink" means each pays his own (go Dutch), whereas "invite for a drink" means one pays for both. An important distinction, usually not necessary (with Farang friends we go Dutch, with Thai friends I pay). But when I meet Black Woman for a drink and chat, she often fishes for an invitation, or uses tricks to make me pay (absorbed/engrossed in her phone when the waiter comes with the bill, forget her wallet and other stuff).

We might show up to one of these circle jerks, more likely the Bangkok edition but not until end of Sept, early October. Hope it's a bit of a success, and thanks for the attempt Bruce. It might be fun.
As for the above suggestion: forget it. My old man will not take any of that nonsense kindly at all. (" ... muk muk low Farang ... "). I'll never hear the end of it.

Oh okaaaaayyyy, Smiles. It didn't hurt to ask....

That's ok. The street will be filled with other boys. :D

Yes, Christian, my friend, ever paying attention to details. As they say, "God is in the details." You're right, I barely ever drink beer either. It's just as expression. But I could change it to say, "Let's meet for a drink and/or a bite to eat (separate checks)."

How's that? No need to offend our Dutch friends either. ( I quite adore the Netherlands and their open culture. )

This way people can feel free to order a Bacardi and Coke and a side of Freedom Fries. :-s

I certainly hope that BruceтАЩs idea takes off, but before any of these members meetings takes place, I feel there should be some basic ground rules laid down. For example, I think we need one on what constitutes unacceptable behaviour.

I should therefore like to propose the following:

Unacceptable Behaviour

Biting, scratching, gouging or hand bagging at group meetings is considered unacceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated and may result in a member being excluded from the group.
=))

On arrival you should inform the waiter that you are looking for BruceтАЩs group. He will then take you to a door at the back of the hotel.
At the door you must knock three times. Not once, not twice, but three times.

A sliding hatch will open and the kon-f├вo-bpr├а-dtuu will say, тАЬWho goes there?тАЭ

You should reply, тАЬThe keys.тАЭ

The kon-f├вo-bpr├а-dtuu will then say, тАЬWhose keys?тАЭ

As 'key' is the Thai word for shit, asking for Bruce's key will probably lead one to the toilet.
Yes, youтАЩre absolutely correct catawampuscat, the Thai word for excrement, dung, residue and dirt is тАж k├оi (as written in its Romanised form).

But I, of course, wrote тАЬkeysтАЭ, plural, and as everyone knows, there are no plurals in Thai, they get round this by using classifiers. So, no such Thai word as farangs, just fa-r├аng (Caucasian or guava).

Interestingly the word k├оi is also used as a prefix to many other words. I checked my notebook and found that I had written down 26 words beginning with k├оi.

IтАЩve picked out a few and would invite members to speculate on which ones could be applied to, not members of this forum, but to foreigners generally that theyтАЩve encountered in their travels around Thailand:

k├оi-n─нao тАУ stingy, cheap
k├оi-b├▓n тАУ to be given to complaining
k├оi-mao - a drunkard
k├оi-yaa тАУ a cigarette or drug addict
k├оi-l├вo тАУ addicted to alcohol
k├оi-├╣at тАУ boastful
k├оi-r├┤ok тАУ sickly, unhealthy
k├оi-goo-h├▓k тАУ to be given to telling lies

I also managed to find a тАЬk├оiтАЭ word which could best describe the nature of this post тАж k├оi-len (playful).

Oh, and there is this one, k├оi-k─Гw, which at a pinch, I suppose, could be used to describe some Thai lads, although I feel sure none of us on this forum know any such person. It means тАж habitually asking for things. :)

And finally, for those who did not understand my reference to тАЬkeysтАЭ, the dialogue I used was a spoof on the ceremony of тАЬthe keysтАЭ played out every night at the Tower of London.

The following was copied from Wikipedia:

At exactly 9.53pm, the Chief Yeoman Warder in Tudor Watchcoat, meets the military escort, made up of members of the Tower of London Guard. Together, the Chief Yeoman Warder and the Yeoman Warder 'Watchman' secure the main gates of the Tower. Upon their return down Water Lane, the party is halted by the sentry and challenged to identify themselves:

Sentry: "Halt! Who comes there?"
Chief Warder: "The keys."
Sentry: "Whose keys?"
Chief Warder: "Queen Elizabeth's keys."
Sentry: "Pass Queen Elizabeth's Keys. All is well."

I am a new member that has followed this forum for several years. I have been traveling to Thailand three to four times per year for the last five years for about three to four weeks at at time. I had the honor of meeting Bruce and Christian last week in Bangkok for Bruce's first Bangkok meeting. It was the night before I returned to the US.
I really appreciated Bruce's efforts to set up an opportunity for those who are inclined to meet personally while living and/or visiting a country that I have come to love and enjoy. Bruce, you have so much energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge on so many topics which include gay Thailand! I thoroughly enjoyed are conversations that Saturday night.
Christian, I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to conversations with you. I know the music/noise near where we were sitting was too loud for your liking. It was so nice to match a face to a name and blog forum that I have become familiar with and have enjoyed over the last several years.
I will be returning in November and look forward to meeting additional members and seeing you both again. I would encourage other members to try the meetings if you are so inclined!

Do not confuse

р╕Вр╕╡р╣Й k├кe [to] defecate ; crap ; shit / excrement ; waste ; residue / (prefix that indicates the following adjective is a negative quality of the person being referred to)

with р╕Др╕╡р╣И k├кe odd ; single ; uneven (different spelling, but same pronunciation as above)

(However "a shit day" and "an uneven date" are not rendered to the same pronunciation with different spelling in Thai, I asked a friend.)

with р╕Вр╕╡р╣И k├иe [to] drive ; ride (a bicycle, motorbike, horse).

(Romanization and translation from thai2english.)

AsiaExplorer, thanks for your nice words and bringing up the noise problem (I didn't want to be the first to comment on this). As I predicted, it's difficult to have a conversation in Soi Twilight, you have to shout at each other. Acoustics is horrible and background noise. Even in a quiet environment, I would prefer one-to-one meeting.
