I checked with my mate who does travel insurance and he says travel insurance for Thailand is OK provided I don't get shot or injured at a political protest. If that happens Im not covered because my policy has an "out" for civil disturbances.
However he also told me that Im probably not covered anyway if I spend more than 3 months a year in Thailand every year because my banks credit card travel policy says "primarily (more than 75% of your time) living in Australia" even though it covers trips up to 6 months. My mate suggested I look at policies covered by American insurance companies via a sight called insuremytrip.com
Does anyone know about these? They done seem to be so restrictive I cant see anything except you have to have a return ticket to your own country.
