About 10 PM military and some Pattaya police began a massive raid in Sunee plaza they seemed not to leave a rock unturned with their focus largely on Nice Boys, the club next door run by that horrid dyke, The Copa and Good boys, however they were entering every venue I past it was the first time I've seen the military leading a raid.

Copa is in Boyztown, not Sunee.

Christian across from the bar to the left of Crazy Dragon has been a double unit beer bar also named Copa next to Ole restaurant. It has been there for more years than I can remember, I know you love to post, but do so when you know what your talking about.

I will check next time I am in Pattaya. There might be a Copa in Sunee, I know definitely that there is a Copa in Boyztown. And I didn't know about Diamond Bar in Sunee until a few months ago.

Let me throw my hat in the ring - is the one in Sunee not actually called LA Copa?

Not that you want to be spending any time in there.

Sorry,
But I thought the point of the post was a raid - does anyone have any information about the actual reason, effects, results? Was this for drugs? Underage workers? Limited to only the Gay establishments?

I am no expert on the goings-on in Sunee but I suggested in another topic that this bunch of fascists would not be content with disenfranchising the poor. You can be certain that their conservative politics are mirrored by conservative attitudes to sexuality; and everything else.

One of the silver linings from a conservatives perspective:

Did they leave the customers and tourists be, and only checked ID etc of the thai nationals?

the club next door run by that horrid dyke,

Yes that dyke is the worst mamasan in Pattaya! I guess many people avoid that bar because of her.

Only Thais were targeted. As of now I do recommend you keep your passport with you at all times while venturing out, better safe than sorry!

I am sure there is no need for you to be so specific about things you may or may not be an expert on :-)

and speaking of conservative attitudes, remind me again who was Prime Minister when Khun Purachai was Interior Minister?

and which Prime Minister was so busy "enfranchising" the poor that she couldn't find the time (or perhaps the money) to make the outstanding payments to rice farmers? (for such a wealthy family it was really quite surprising to find out that so many of their friends and associates were also so in need of such "enfranchising"!), and who where the bunch of fascists who actually made the payments?

perhaps now is the time when some people, and the country, may benefit from die-hards removing their red-shirt and yellow-shirt coloured glasses and coming to grips with reality

Is that the same one who used to work in Mic Mi Bar?

All dykes look alike to me - short hair, fat arse, and ugly as fuck ........oh wait a minute :))

Well, from the list above sounds like only the notorious bars (most of which have been raided before) were targetted. No real need to guess why.
As I have said on many occasions these raids only seem to take part in low season... nothing must interfere with money making...nothing.

The only reason the raid took place was to look for and test for Ya Ba........Methenphetamine. Also to see if the bar workers had Thai ID cards, if you believe they are looking foe underage that scene has died out now for a couple of years, if however you are looking for "boys" with a sexual identity crisis you will be very happy here.

Where is your reference for that? How do you know that is fact? You did say they left no rock unturned.

That statement conflicts with the raid on MyMic bar and one of the reasons for its subsequent closure. And that was not a "couple of years ago"!

What I said was there was no reason to guess why the four bars listed at the beginning of the thread were raided. These four bars have a known history and if a bar ignores one law they are more than likely to ignore many laws and that is probably the reason they were raided (yet again) together with all the rest. Its not just underage or ID, there are more than likely to be other transgressions that they are probably up to as well.

And the authorities probably (should) have a mandate to ensure that previous miscreants do not return to their previous behaviour.

What disturbs me is not the raid but the fact that the military accompanied it. It seems that the police are controlled by a politicised military command structure.
Laugh this off if you must; but anyone who has any understanding of post-WW2 international politics can see where this is heading.

Honey, you're still living in post-WW2 ... hell, WW1 same same old blather.
You have Socialist Realism paintings plastered all over the walls in your one-room pied-├а-terre in Soho, right?

(one of my favs. Good thing dear old Ilyich Ulyanov didn't mention to them what was to come.)

I assume you cheered on the massacre of the protesters in Tienanmen Square some years ago, as they were very naughtily attempting to overthrow the holy Communist Party of China? That went well.

Gaybutton is certainly eager to show that is all is well with Sunee Plaza and that there's no drug or underage problem and yet the frequent raids as well as individual testimonies from patrons seem to contradict this. There can't be smoke without fire.

A simplification of a complex issue.

Unlike you, I wasn't around just after WW2. Care to enlighten me where this is heading? I have no idea what you're talking about.
