Thought I'd give this a bounce since Phuket Pride 2014 started yesterday, and Bon Tong Productions is proud to be sponsoring the event. It is a charity event (http://www.phuket-pride.org/charities/) so even if you cannot visit I know donations (http://www.phuket-pride.org/sponsor/donations/)will be gratefully accepted.

There were some complications organising this years event due to local elections in Patong next weekend which has resulted in changes to events and locations. You can get full details on the website www.phuket-pride.org (http://www.phuket-pride.org/) designed for them by none other than Bon Tong Productions (http://www.bontong.com/) :D

I'm planning to be in Phuket on April 25 - 28. I just learned about the elections and Friday and Saturday being dry days at the bars in Patong.
Anyone know how they're planning around that? Will the bars even be open on Fri and Sat?

Apparently the elections are local to Patong, the solution for Phuket Pride is to hold the events for those days away from Patong:

Friday April 25 2014 GARLAND ELECTION PARTY at CC Hideaway (http://www.phuket-pride.org/news/friday-april25-2014/) "As the bars all close at 6pm for Patong elections, come and join us at CC Hideaway in Kata where the bar is wet and serving and the pool is wet and welcoming. While Patong hold elections for their Mayor, we will hold elections for Mr Phuket Pride 2014"

Saturday April 26 2014 тАШSunset Beach PartyтАЩ at Iguana Beach 5.30pm to 11.30pm (http://www.phuket-pride.org/news/saturday-april26-2014/) "On this day there are elections in Patong and all bars will be closed until midnight. Iguana beach is a private bay in Phuket, 15-20 minutes drive from Patong. Due to itтАЩs location Iguana Beach is not affected by the alcohol ban in Patong and the bars at this party will be open all evening. We have exclusive use of the beach for this amazing Sunset party."

Hope that helps!
