The key subject matter of the post should be about another country.

In the Global Forum, the post doesn't have to be about travel.....just as long as the post is about another country.

For example....one we see often......gay marriage in another country.
If the post is about gay marriage...it goes in Open Discussion.
If the post is about another country...where the gay marriage is happening / or not happening, it can go in the Global Forum.

If you take a quick tour to both re-organized forums you'll see other examples to help define the difference.

Update to Posting Toolbar and using the Quote function

Click the "Post Reply" button (Not the "quote" button on the user's post)- scroll down under the compose message pane:

there's a little scroll bar on the message history pane down below the compose message pane. Use that to locate and copy and paste desired quote:

Highlight your quote and cick the "quote BBcode button above the compose message pane:

That button inserts the
tags around your quote- that's what formats it as a quote. Then you can go down to the message history pane and find another quote:

(Advanced/optional)- You can insert the user's name that you are quoting into the quote BBcode tags to format the quote with "suchandsuch said..."... but you have to get the syntax just right for that to work:

make
[quote]

into

[quote="jellybean"]

This functionality is built into phpBB software and should work the same as it dis before we updated the posting toolbar. The buttons are just positioned differently.

Members,

If you see former user names come up in the "Newest Member" listings it is because we are re-connecting these so that their posts can be pulled up in a search.
Only be alarmed if you see them posting again, especially the user names of those who have passed away already.

Members,

You may have noticed, if you scroll up to the top of the page here at Sawatdee you will see our toolbar.
The toolbar has been updated to direct you to the various pages of the site, including a brand new page for Nicky's Gay Pattaya posts.

The "Home" tab" will take you to the front page. If you log into the site from the front page, this should keep you logged on each time you visit the site from the same computer or device...provided you check the "remember me" box.

Additionally, if you scroll down on the front page to a box on the bottom right titled "Meta" you can also log right into the Network and access the sites in our Network, as well have access to the tools to create your own blog or site. The log in for Meta is different than for Sawatdee Gay Thailand and so will need to request a password sent to your email to access this area of the site. You are welcome to go in, have a look and please let us know if you have any comments or feedback. This area is for Members only.

Once you sign into the site through Meta, you will see an additional toolbar above the toolbar described above with additional functionality. This area also allows you to create your own Avatar. The avatar that you use for the Board will not appear in Meta until you create one. Once you do and if you happen to make a comment on another Sawatdee Network site, your Avatar will appear next to your comment.

You'll notice I'm using a slightly different Avatar for my Meta log in.

If you would be interested in creating a site of your own, linking your existing site with ours, having us host your site (We have two Networks..one Gay and the other family content) let us know! We can help! Or, if you would be interested in writing a front page article for us (Where my Sawatdee Gay Thailand article is now) made up of 2 - 4 paragraphs and a photo...we'd love to hear from you!

Simply send us a PM, an email or use the "Contact" form also in the toolbar to let us know!

Members,

If you have been accessing the site through a short cut linked to Sawatdee-Gay-Thailand.com instead of Sawatdeenetwork.com you may have been re-directed to a different site.

This issue has now been resolved and both Sawatdee-Gay-Thailand.com and Sawatdeenetwork.com will get you here again.

Thank you very much to a GayThailand.com member for bringing this to my attention.
