In the past I was able to go directly to a topic's new posts. Is this feature no longer available?

Yes! It's here:

Same as before. It just looks different on the new style. You can go to your User Control Panel > Board Preferences and select Prosilver from the drop-down box for a more familiar layout.

The unread messages in the new simplicity format goes nowhere for me. The prosilver works fine however.

OK. I had a line of code from an aborted MOD still in the file. I didn't notice because it was working fine for me. Anyway, that code has been deleted now so try clearing your browser cache and see if those latest post icons work- (on the Board index page as well as each forum page)
