Still, I am looking forward to my vacation and seeing some of my old friends, making new ones and enjoying some of the local dietary delights. I don't know what food I am looking forward to more... Pattaya has some very tasty street food and I do love the Kabobs sold along walking street. Bangkok has some tasty soups and snacks sold on the street and Chiang Mai has some of the best grilled meats I have had..... Oh I can't wait! I was hooked on the food since my first visit.

Speaking of my first visit. I am not sure when I became friends with Pee (Not his real name). I don't even remember where I met him or how I met him. I only remember him telling me that he is a Guide and also does massage. When I first met him, I liked him and hired him as a guide to show me around Bangkok and to show me how to get around to the places I had in mind. Once we were done the tour, we went back to my room and had fun in bed. During that trip he would come by my room for a short non-sexual visit. Sometimes he would walk with me to Silom, escort me to Babylon or meet me for a late night bite to eat. Other times he would bring friends with him to my room to meet me. I never gave him any money or anything for his short visits.

On one of my last nights he spent the evening with me in bed. Before he left I remember him telling me he wants to see me when I return the following year. I also remember him telling me not to get fat... LOL! Since I have known him for the past few years. We meet often, have sex off and on and there has never been any money changing hands. I have helped him setup a website, helped him with his gayromeo profile, taught him how to use adobe to edit his pictures but I don't consider that payment as I would do as much for any friend or stranger that I thought I could help.

There are times when I have paid him but that was when I asked him to take me someplace in particular and to do it in a way that I can find the place again myself using a bus or the skytrain. When he does that for me, I like to pay him for his time. Other than that, never has he asked me for money and I am sure he would have shown me what I needed even if there was no Baht to be had.

Now I also have a friend in Chiang Mai. He is as handsome as the Devil and can make magic in bed. I met him on my first trip to Chiang Mai. He never claimed to be a moneyboy but never misses the chance to take me to the mall and look at me with sad eyes after finding a pair of 501 Jeans that he wanted. Before leaving the mall he always suggests we stop at a gold shop..... If he was not so good in bed I would have simply walked away... But I didn't walk away and I didn't buy him gold. What I did do was give him some money and fill his cars tank full of gas.

He never told me he was a moneyboy but he didn't have to. When I was back home in the USA. He would send me naked pictures of himself and it only kept me on the hook.... So much so that for a few times, I would have him book my hotel room for me and I would pay him and he would pay the hotel. I didn't know what the true cost of the hotel was and I didn't care. It was cheaper than buying gold and it was not so much that I felt as if I was being used. It was a win/win situation I like to think.

Over time, I stopped messing with him. Why? There were far too many guys that were happy to be friends and friends with benefits with a foreign guy like me without expecting payment.

There was a time or two that he saw me walking along an empty street on my way to or from the House of Male. We both stopped, He was looking as good as ever. We talked and he asked why I didn't call him to let him know I was in Chiang Mai. I would say I don't have his number and he would give me a business card.... Can you beleive it? He would give me a business card! Hahaha! Anyway, we would make a promise to meet again and I would resume my walk debating if I want to call him or not.

In the end it was evident that we were looking for two different things. He wanted a client and compensation and I simply wanted a good time. Did I call him? What do you think?

I think you sound like a penny-pinching miser...if you are better off than your younger friends and are not prepared to help them in their life with some minor financial assistance, and I am NOT talking about paying for sex [what is YOUR monthly income???], and we are talking about peanuts, then you are worthy of being anyone's friend.

Me better off? This guy in Chiang Mai has a business in the tourist area. A big house. 2 motorbikes and a car that is better than mine. :sign5:

You seem to think all Thai guys in the business all come from the same mold..... :kap:

Even my friend in Bangkok told me last year that he owns a rubber farm and a mango farm and both have many employees as he told me when we were talking about family and preparing for the future.

I wish I had a couple of farms.... Hey, maybe these guys should be throwing some Baht my way, I'm the one in need..... :sign5:

You suddenly make a lot of sensible posts lately, am just seeing them by now. I do not bother with FB and likes, but agree with above: you should deserve one by now. Anticipated somehow a learning story that even MBs can become good friends, turns out a little different. But yes, thats for me why i keep on returning-fo the cool season, both here (cold) and there-nicest time of year- the friendly Thai, unexpected meets, so often it belies any predictions.
Make us wonder-make a sudden twist that noone expects in your nr 2. expensive Northern boy.
