If you go, go with a Thai friend otherwise expect to be a wallflower.

There are gay bars in that area, and they have names!

E.g. there is Fake Club, in which I had this memorable encounter last year where a boy invited me to his table and then asked me if I could contribute 1000 Baht for their drinks.

it is NOT IN that weekendmarket-yet another soon to be only for tourists BKK landmark, but fairy nearby. And opens late-as most local Thai ''entertainment'' does (does not matter if its str8 or gay-its all the same), from 21.00. Its in Sapan Kwai distrcit, so the 2.00 closing is taken seriously. There are several, mostly same format: overloud music, table dancing, show off your wealth by buying JW-red or better:black and fone all your friends-you can now also show them on your newest fone!-how much sanuk anybody has by just doing that-foning in thumping loud music.
The most essential part of what gay bars are usually for: meet/mate, is done after closing on the street. By exchanging fone nrs.
