Bangkok - Tawan & Other Bar Charges

Its been 5 months since my last trip to Bangkok and the bars. I will be going again next week! Weeeeee :party

Can somebody share with me, what is the current market rate for tips for short time and overnight? I understand at Tawan now, the minimum tip is 2000Baht for short time. If overnight, will 2500B be sufficient? The off fees there were 500baht and 350b for a drink the last time i was there.

what about boys from the other bars? Do they still maintain a minimum of 1500baht tip for short time? If overnight, can i pay 2000baht?

Just trying to get a sensing of the fees there so I can budget accordingly lol :salute: :salute:

Yeah. This coming trip, I would like to go to bars which I have never set foot in before. Tawan is getting quite expensive in recent times. Tawan is the only 1 in its own class. There is NO similar place if you only like that kind of guys.
Most of the giant gogo-bars will have a wide variety of guys and their fysics, incl. a few perhaps resembling the Tawan ''models''.

I will wait for your comments/report about Tawan :blackeye: . I also go to Bangkok in 20 days and I will have 10 nights in Bangkok + a 5 days visit around Phetchaburi/Hua Hin area. I also have to control my budget as this holidays were not expected. I should take 5 weeks in January but it's pretty quiet at the office so I split my holidays.

There will be a lot of contests in september so I expect so see good looking bodybuilders in Tawan :love4: I mean bodybuilders beginning diet or steroid/hormone cycle.

Hi guys. I just returned from Bangkok. I wanted to update immediately after coming back from Tawan but I cannot access SGT there. Anyway here is my trip report though I cannot remember some things like the boysтАЩ number.

I arrived at Tawan around 9.40pm. The cost for entry for that particular night is 400Baht inclusive of a drink of course and a lucky draw ticket. I forgot my number but I think in the 50s range. Meaning I was the 50th customer to entered. And I believe the number of customers to be around 110-130 on that night. Could be more I am sure as the place was packed! Apparently the event for that night is for тАЬin-houseтАЭ boys as almost all of the contestants were familiar faces.

The event started with the emcees (one tall lanky guy and the mixed thai African bodybuilder-forgot his name) drawing and calling out the winners of the lucky draw. Prizes were in a form of porn dvds. Lol. Number 100 was called hence I assumed the number of customers on that night to be around 110-130. Some numbers were called but nobody appeared. I guess some are embarrassed to go up on stage to receive the dvd. Haha like me.

Anyway, a couple of shows were performed and the emcees came out again to introduce the contestants. There were 10 contestants in total. And out of 10, only 2-3 were in shaped! OMG!! And out of the 3 only 1 I predicted to be the winner. They did some poses and customers get the chance to buy flowers for those they liked. I do not know how much the flowers cost.

In between, the usual shows were performed and the boys available for the night were paraded. And I got bored around 11.15pm. The boys (or men) on display were in horrible shape! I would not even call it BULKY or off season. There were some that gave me an impression that I was in some kind of a chub subdomain within Tawan bar!! I mean like really!! There was one with layers of fats on his cheek and waistline. Some are just the average тАЬgymmerтАЭ type. But not the bodybuildersтАЩ kind. There was one who is even lean fit (but cute :P). So like I said I got bored. The contestantтАЩs segment was short too. Somehow I felt cheated. I felt like the shows were nothing special compared to other nights. What makes it all different was the so called contest that is going on. Even then, the boys were basically from there. Though they were at least two faces I have not seen before. Part of me thinks that it is just a ruse and тАЬhypeтАЭ to get in more customers. 400baht x 100pax is not too bad revenue I must say.

After literally yawning by watching the show and what it seems like eternity for the contestant segment to come out, I left early. The next segment was the announcement of the winner and there were more shows to watch. Initially I wanted to off somebody. But looking at the stable of boys, I decided to leave feeling a little bit unsatisfied.

Would I go again? Maybe not on an event night. It is damn boring or the novelty has worn off for me. Some first timers were so excited that they even danced to the music. I am always amused by first timers.

Anyway, I left to Soi Twillight and returned back to my hotel (Tarntawan) around 1.30am. And as the lift opens, out came the man whom I predicted will win. And he did judging from the trophy that he was carrying. Seems that he was offed by an oriental man. Not sure Chinese, Korean or Japanese or others. He was the most muscular and is quite handsome there. I forgot the name and number. LOL I wanted to try to off him there and then. But not sure if its possible. I walked away feeling shocked, angry and disappointed.

I then realised I donтАЩt think I can continue this one sided feeling. So I did not turn up the next day. He texted me if I am still coming. I did not reply. I eventually did the day after. But was told by the mamasan that he called in to say he needs one week off from the bar so that he can study and focus on his exams. I texted him later in the night and offered to meet him on Monday. But he said he cannot as he has to study with his schoolmates and
I left it as that. And I think that is the end of the fairytale. LOL

On a sidenote: I actually learnt a lot in this trip. How late thais can be late for appointments. Or how they can suddenly vanished after promising to turn up.
