Remember IRC? (Internet Relay Chat)
Long ago before Google, Yahoo and Facebook, there was IRC. It was a chat program that allowed people from across the world to chat in rooms. It was similar to being the Ham Radio of the Internet.

I use to use it often before AOL became popular only visiting the program once or twice a year and now I come to realize that it has been a long, long time since I have visited IRC and almost just as long since I have checked out any internet news-groups.

Is anyone still using these things? For a long time, I use to depend on news-groups to supply me with free porn, pictures and video clips.

Only once or twice have I used it to chat with guys in Thailand. Everytime I tried, I found it was very difficult to communicate with them.

Looked about a year ago. I see #GAMTH homepage still up with screen names like
BatSiam, Pigky. Used to be a #Gayasian and a GAM channel too.

Wouldn't bother downloading the program cause dunno if there are any
supporting servers for this anymore. (Mirc)

Used to be kinda fun on my first year on the net
Fall in love long distance.

You can still access IRC through MIRC or through IceChat for example.

MIRC though is a bit of a bummer because there are few servers now and it can be difficult to connect

The Dalnet channels are long gone but Undernet lives on with lots of channels.

IRC has very limited functionality though - basically all you can do is chat by text!
