Your Advice to a Thai guy thinking of becoming a gogo boy?

Lets imagine you are traveling through thailand and you stop at a remote village to get a cold drink. As you sip your drink and take pictures, a group of young guys with happy smiling faces, faces that show wonder and surprise along with genuine curiosity approach you. They all ask you questions of where you are from, where you are going along with a thousand other questions. Some questions in Thai and some in broken English.

After some time of your entertaining their questions and enjoying a good laugh yourself. The oldest among them sends the group away but he stays to talk. Soon you learn that he and his family is poor and he tells you in a whisper that he heard of hushed rumors that a guy can go to the city and get a job at a gogo and let men do things to him for money. He looks to you as being wise and able to give him the best advice in this matter.

You look at the handsome young man and offer this advice.........

Do everything at least three times in an evening.

Either way firstly I don't really think that any farang can advise a Thai boy about such things as our cultures and morals and levels of knowledge and experience of both their lives, poverty and what is acceptable is bound to be very different. I guess all you could do was tell him the bare basic facts of what "we" think the life of a go go boys entails and then trusting that he had all the knowledge and information you could give him allow him to go off and make up his own mind after that.

If however we are being a bit light hearted in your question and it's not intended to seriously then I guess a suggestion of a free trial run might be in order so that he could assess as to whether both he and you believed he was suitable and UP for the job in hand :-)

My advice would be for him not to do it. I would tell him that the risks outweigh the benefits. I would encourage him to earn money using his brain or doing honest labor. I would remind him that no one would have his best interest at heart in that line of work and each time he had sex with a new stranger or a frequent stranger, he would be risking his health along with his life. Also I would ask him to consider how his family would feel if the secret got out.

Would I stress the benefits? No. I would just end it there and leave the rest up to him.

Lighthearted or no, I couldn't help but notice many responses took the view of the situation as being a good chance to get a freebie. Surely to give a curious boy the full experience of being a gogo boy some recompense should be forthcoming. That way he could decide if 1/. if he could perform with a farang with money as an inducement or2/. discover if it was worth a few Baht to have a farang molest him.
