Street thief needed to pay his rent
Pay in gay bar not nearly enough. A hostelry employee claimed he was forced into a life of crime because his wages were too miserly. Police reported that Khun Saa Wongklong, aged 39 and the owner of Excellence Massage, was walking near Soi Hollywood to buy food when a miscreant crept up behind him and tried to snatch his gold necklace. In the struggle, the chain was broken in two but witnesses came to the rescue and called the police. Mr Narongrit Cheunchew was eventually apprehended near the Tuk Com building on Pattaya South Road. He was immediately taken to the soi 9 police headquarters for interrogation. Mr Narongrit said later he was employed in a Boyztown bar as a waiter, but the wages were only about 200 baht a day and tips were negligible at this time of the year. Unable to pay his rent or to afford a scant meal, he had hit on the idea of a hit and run action to raise the quality of his life. Unfortunately, his plan had gone seriously wrong.
