Is Buddhism a religion?

I know many posters claim that Buddhism isnt a religion like Christianity or Islamism so I wonder what they make of this article on Buddhist Fundamentalism - http://www.counterpunch.org/2013/05/03/ ... mentalism/ (http://www.counterpunch.org/2013/05/03/on-buddhist-fundamentalism/)

I also posted on Buddhist Nazis in Burma but I see no one who believes Buddhism is not a religion has been able to respond.
