No idea, but Songkran is my guess. I didn't even go out this year. I got caught up with work and other things, and totally forgot about Songkran, and to reserve a hotel in town for it. I don't drive, and that 5 minute travel time into town turns into 2 hours during Songkran, so it's somewhat a pain. Once you get into town, you're stuck there outside all day with nowhere to rest. So once you go home that's it for the day, and you can't really go back out for dinner and drinks, or anything, because travel time is too long.

With a hotel in town it would be perfect though. Go out in the morning for a few hours, and have some fun playing in the water. Then back to the hotel to relax for a bit, have a shower, play on the computer a bit, etc. Then get dressed up and go out for a nice dinner and some drinks.

Oh well, next year!

"The fun" has not started yet in Pattaya , not sure which world OP is living in.

It will continue all week and you will never see me out in daylight. Maybe after 9 pm.
