Hopefully Sven (Or Sfen) keeps the mamasan Bee on at K-Boys. He / She isn't so much lady boy but rather androgynous. He / She is a wealth of sensible knowledge and quite proficient in English. My BoySpecial 2006 (As seen in my personal album pg 21) was the one that brought me into K-Boys while working as the doorman there. Some of the lady boys at K-Boys are quite nice and spice up the club. ItтАЩs really hard to tell, тАЬLipтАЭ from a real gal and sheтАЩs a real sweetie. As far as Bee is concerned, he/she does have a habit of, shall we say, not being totally honest with off fees and returned change. I know it most likely happens in many places, but from first hand experience it has happened to me twice at K-boys.

As I have said before, it's not so much the money (a few hundred baht here and there) but what kind of example does that set for the other staff and the boys who will be in your room later?

Is it OK to steal a 100 baht from the customer? How about 1000 baht?, 10,000 baht? Where do you draw the line that stealing is OK.

My humble opinion is that it is the principle.

Aside from that rave, I have fun in most all the go-go's in Sunee as well as Boyz town. Just smile and be happy, it will be returned with smiles and even more fun from the staff.

Im a bit disapointed my favourite bar THE RED DRAGON has closed.This was one of my fun bars.Even though JOHNY didnt like the seats cause they were small but i sat on the lounge. I loved the interior of the RED DRAGON BAR.is the owner on here? Im disapointed,shocked and devastated.At least we have NIDDYS NOOK left.

Getting back to the original post,I feel this board would benefit if it became a paid board and I know a lot of you dont want to pay.You want someone to do things for nothing.
I know a lot of people who agree that a $10 -15 AUD fee should apply each month.
Think about this,you will get more businesses on here offering you discounts as you become a member,you will get better reports about the bar scene,you will be able to ask questions about the bar scene and get answers as the reporters would be paid,there would be members only on here,it has more benefits for all of us.If you cant afford 10 doolars a month about 5 dollars U.S.A then you shouldnt be going overseas.

Here's an idea for you boygeorge.

Why don't you buy the Red Dragon Bar, if you like it so much and put a cover charge on the door to get in. Then after a couple days / weeks, come back to us and ask the same question.
I bet you doolers to doonuts you won't need to ask the question.

I think K-Boys has it's likeness to other bars but also has it's differences. The music when I have been in K-Boys is a varied mix of pounding Thai classics and Thai rock and has a fare smattering of Euro style dance. The music gets the guys whipped up and many of the 'straighter' boys can be seen to virtually bounce around the bar, sing-a-long to the songs and stamp their tootsies to the pounding drumbeats. Most gogo bars, whether in Sunee, Boyztown or in Bangkok rarely have such animated dancing and singing.

Personally I only have a couple of problems with the bar. My personal tatse is not for lady boys and, of late when I have ventured inside, the lady boys have made up 80% of the crowd. I'm not offing guys at the moment as I am happpy with the one guy I am seeing, so what difference should this make? Well, I still like to look at what I consider sexy and the pickings (for my taste) are slim at K-Boys. All a matter of taste of course.

The other thing to be careful of is the age. Last time I was in, one of the mamasan asked if I like young boys and pointed out a shortish guy age 17. Whilst 17 is legal in many countries and (I believe) legal for guys of the same age to have sex in Thailand, It is still illegal for an older farang to go with a 17 year old.

The Forums at Badpuppy (www.Badpuppy.com (http://www.Badpuppy.com) - a large gay porn site out of Florida) used to be like this. you could only post to and read the Forums if you were a paid member of Badpuppy. But over the years the Forums there died as more and more of the interesting people left (or were forced out) by an increasing number of hate-filled trolls pouring their poison and spite over the heads of other members. That, combined with a couple of posters with clear mental health and social problems begining to dominate every single topic and attacking certain posters every time they posted, and with the reluctance of badpuppy management to moderate the board and pull the worst offending posts pretty well killed it off. One thing I did learn over there was that a forum is only as good as its active members. Lose them, or allow them to leave due to neglect or unreasoanble abuse, and you'll lose the unique spirit of that forum.

This board reminds me of the badpuppy board as it was about 8 years ago. I hope it never goes the way badpuppy forums went.

I don't think I was clear but I also meant to say, using the example of the Badpuppy forums, that a paid forum is no guarantee that a board turns out well or is better or even lasts longer than a free board. The Badpuppy example shows clearly it doesn't. It really comes down to the moderation policy of the owner, the members that contribute, their interests and whether or not their contributions are sufficiently interesting to attract others to respond to and participate in. I don't see a board like this one working if everybody had to pay a regular monthly fee to use it, but I do think that members should pay something (an annual/biannual fundraiser) to use it. That's only fair. It's not a free world.

This Board is a 'contributary' Board, not a 'pay' Board.
The comment above is not totally correct . . . on the old Ezboard version of Sawatdee Forum there were at least 2 fundraising drives to help ElephantSpike out with the costs (EZBoard was quite an expensive Board, and it had no ads at all for a long time).
Both fundraisers (lasted about 2 weeks if I recall) were incredibly successful and a quite a lot of members helped out ... some with pretty large sums.

So folks WILL pay for Boards other than porno sites . . . but not ALL will pay: the fatal flaw.
I agree with you that if the Board was made into strictly a 'pay' Board it would probably be unsuccessful.
