Lucky to be in the gay scene

I am currently accompanying an acquaintance, who is straight, around a number of the girl go go bars. Areas visited so far include go go bars in walking street, Soi 6 , LK Metro. I have to say I am shocked by the high prices. The drink prices are reasonable, but to "bar fine" a girl(the term the straight bars use for a 'off') the usual amount to be paid is 600-1000 baht. Depends on the time of the taking off and whether the girls work service (waitress) or dancing. And one bar even quoted 1,500 for a bar fine. But what is really outrageous is the tip being expected. The usual short time quote being given is around 2,500 baht and for all night(long time) it is 3,000 baht. In the low season for ST and LT abut 500 less respectively. I have made some enquires and whilst there is some room for negotiating the about rates seem the norm; the beer bars are not much less which again I find hard to believe.
So in other word and for example go to 1/2 bars, have a few drinks and take a girl and the cost is around 5,000 baht. I do not believe our scene would tolerate such ludicrous prices. Or would it?

One of the reasons I done post for weeks at a time is that every post seems to be about Pattaya and I never go there Im off to Bangkok in a few weeks time after Songkran and I wont be visiting Pattaya and I will post a trip report but trust me I could right it now it will be the same as my last one which was "woke up had brekky met friends for lunch or dinner grabbed a boy off Gayromeo or Grindr didnt go to the bars didnt have a massage had a good time".

I think if someone opened a a real nice go go bar with some awesome boys and served good strong decent alcohol there just may be a market.

Brisbane, it has been discussed over and over that the reason most posts are about Pattaya is that Pattaya seems to be the most concentrated with gay expats and tourists. While there are quite a few in Bangkok and some in other places, they seem to be less vocal and just don't seem to join others on forums.

That is certainly the explanation that most people associated with Pattaya would find least threatening.

Same as in the porn industry, girls get more than guys. They need a Gay Romeo equivalent to avoid the off fee. I hope the cheap skates that under tip the bois are reading this. These cute bar bois are a bargain.

Back to the op, some st8 friends have confirmed the price structure at go-go bars and that the beer bars are much cheaper. Also WS and Soi 6 have the highest prices in town. In the gay venues there is no distinction between go-go and beer bars. this

A simple case of supply and demand , perhaps?
Much more demand for bar girls than gogo boys.
Much more competition by the guys for the girls.
