Why Do Thai Post Pictures of Money on Facebook

Why do so many Thai post pictures of stacks or fans of baht on FB and others copy and post it again? Is it simply worshiping wealth or equating it with power or is it something else I don't understand?

Iv'e noticed this also. One of my facebook thai friend has this stuff posted frequently. I now know he is a money boy.

You also see pictures like that on Gayromeo profiles.

Maybe they think it will bring luck to show that they have money I dont know.
Or maybe they just want to tell the world that they are moneyboys ?
