The homophobic Indian cardinal Cardinal Ivan Dias lives in a 12-room apartment (owned by the Holy See) one floor above the Europa Multiclub, said to be Europe's largest gay sauna. Apparently the Vatican owns 20 shares of the apartment building, purchased at a reported тВм20 million ($26,020,000) in 2008. The Independent newspaper also reports that the Church avoided paying Italian taxes on the properties because it listed them as part of the Holy City.
There are as yet no reports on who else lives in the apartment block or whether they frequent the sauna.
