Well, I have taken the plunge.
The BF and I split last August and the business is sold and I am headed to Bangkok May 1'st to start a new chapter.
I was wondering if anyone knows of from personal use or has heard of a website where I could find either an apartment share; or someone looking for a roommate to go in on a 2 bedder in Bangkok?
I feel that I would be able to get more 'bang for my baht' by joining rent with someone on a nice 2 bedroom apt. opposed to a studio or small one bedroom.
I will be taking an apartment for the month of May and plan on exploring areas and options for a month before I settle more firmly.
Appreciate any help anyone may have. Thanks

whilst it seems like a good idea . i wouldnt do it ..
what happens when you want to go to bed and he has the telly on to loud ?
you want to sleep and he bangs the door shut ?
it will also be someone you dont know, who will be in the toilet when you want to use it . be cooking when you want to cook ...
get a place to yourself .. ok it might not be as big, but the lack of hassle will be well worth it.

I wouldn't do it either. What if......

What if they damage the place and bolt leaving you to pay the cost?
What if their guest steals from you?
What if they steal from you?
What if they get the place raided for drugs?
What if they make a play for every guy you bring to your Apt?
What if they gossip about you?
What if they use your stuff?
What if you find out that you both don't like each other?
what if they are slobbish?
What if they are careless to your safety and belongings?
What if they are a troublemaker?
What if they are a liar?
What if they are a user?
What if.....

Good luck and enjoy your new roomate!

Thanks Brisbane Guy. I didn't think of Craigslist and i will send you a PM soon.

FYI: I am in my mid 50's and have had literally dozens of roommates in my lifetime
starting back when I was 19. I appreciate your "concern" for me but if I lived my life
with all those "what if's" controlling it, I seriously doubt I would be making such a huge
move to relocate to Bangkok at this point in my life or even leaving my Mothers' apron
string back when I was 19. I try to look at all the "good what if's" instead of dwelling on
the negative ones. In the end I will always have a half a glass of water and you will have
one half empty.

Or I'll have the glass that the stranger didn't piss or spit in while I was sleeping hahahaha
Sorry, I use to work at a mental hospital and I learned that people are capable of doing anything.

Donald1 I cannot offer you advice on accommodation, but I can wish you luck with the next chapter in your life. There are many of us thinking or planning to retire full or part time to Thailand, so keep the thread going. We would be delighted to know how your life in BBK proceeds. Best wishes.
