Glad to see Sunnee Plaza really busy again

A couple of weeks ago i was in Sunnee Plaza and noticed how busy it was...it shows for all the slagging off it gets people have decided they still like going there....

Wonderful to hear this! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Pattaya and I am so glad that it's still partying away in spite of the Middle Eastern influx, the Russin invasion, the raids and all the frequent reports of its demise.

I might not be high class in any way (quite an understatement, I admit) but I do find Sunee rather genteel in its presentation of gay male entertainment options, as compared to the other venues. Maybe it's because it's just less frenetic - mind you, I do like a little rambunctious raunch but only in occasional doses so making Sunee my base of operations is better for me.

Totally ridiculous statement. The GoGo Bar prices are essentially the same in both places except for the xxx shows at Xboy where if you want to see Sex you have to pay for it.

If you are comparing Beer Bar prices in Sunee with GoGo Bars in BoysTown then that is a ridiculous comparison of 2 completely different types of Bars.

If you want cheap drinks and no GoGo Boys then Sunee is the place. If you want a great selection of Boys on stage to take home then BoysTown wins hands down. ToyBoys alone has more boys then all the GoGo Bars in Sunee.

Two completely different Venues IMHO and both have their pluses and minuses but to try to say the prices in BoysTown are high in comparison to Sunee is just a wrong type of comparison.

Lets put it this way....when you go out in boystown it ends costing you more than going out in sunnee plaza in most places in boystown you have to pay more if you like it or not...but in sunnee plaza you can find enough bars to fill the night cheeply...you cant do that round boystown or the soi next to it...and i'm not talking about you get boys on stage ...i'm just talking about drink prices

Had in gogo bars in Sunee during my stay the best selection since long time.

Amazing how many of you are incapable of reading simple sentences. No where did I say I dislike Sunee. I go to Sunee to sit in a Beer Bar and talk with friends. But if I want to find company for the evening then I want to go to a GoGo Bar that has boys. I'm not making up my reports and I defy anyone to find anything different.

Last visit 10 days ago. City had 5 boys, Krazy dragon had 6 boys, Mic My had 5 boys . Just plain ridiculous and this is at 10-1030pm. Nice Boys had 20 boys and 16 of them were wearing jeans as they had been for all 3 of my visits this trip. Same night Toy Boys had 40 boys and Funny Boys had 30 boys. Now if you are looking for a boy for the evening the intelligent thing to do is go where the boys are. They are definitely not in Sunee GoGo Bars.

If you are looking for cheap drinks and conversation then Sunee Beer Bars are the place to go. And my original response stands there is virtually no difference between GoGo Bar prices in Sunee or BoysTown. If 20 baht might break you then you should probably stay home.

This board is for information especially valuable for new visitors. My break down of the 2 areas is completely honest where as when someone makes statements that BoysTown is overpriced without mentioning that he is comparing Apples with Oranges then he is doing a disservice to the Area and the new visitor.

Now lets see what you can find wrong with that post???

I did look in at the Former New Sawatdee and saw nothing that interested me but that's just my taste. The other 2 you mention , I think I may have been accosted by a very cute door man at one of the other two , asking me to go inside for a show. I was on my way to Niceboys to meet a friend so I did not take him up on his offer. He would certainly have been of interest to me and I don't know what I would have found inside. The other one you mention I have no idea about.

I had the misfortune to walk (or be dragged!) into CU Bar, what a disgusting hole! filthy dirty, and full of clearly under age straight guys, most of whom looked stoned, sitting on stage with their jeans/boxers on, wanking off to straight porn, and they encourage you to place 200 baht in a cheque bin pot, and once done, they wank on the stage looking at their mobiles, then walk over to your table, cum on the table, snatch the 200 baht from the pot, and walk off, some poor waiter then turns up with a rigid bit of cloth to wipe the cum off the table, the same bit of cloth i later discovered hanging up in the filthy toilet for customers to dry their hands on! classy! i am more than happy to pay 160-200 baht in funny boys or toy boys, have nice clean, good looking and gays on the stage, and to be able to go for a pee in a spotlessly clean toilet, that's the difference between boys town and sunee! likie everything in life, you get what you pay for!

You're the mouthy one making statements about how high the prices are in BoysTown. Check out how many customers are in ToyBoys at 11pm. There are more then all the GoGo bars in Sunee have.

Guess there are plenty of people who think BT is providing a good environment and fair prices . If you don't want a/c and lots of cute boys then stay away but don't try to paint the place as having high prices because they don't fit your budget!

I agree completely !!! I found out last week Sunne Plaza is dirty , and you are right underage straight boys in that bar !

I only go there for cheap drinks , and to meet one of my thai friend.

I think you have bars confused. As of last December, CU Bar did not have a stage. It had a small snooker table. Maybe you're talking about Good Boys GoGO Bar which was across the soi but was closed by the police and I think it's still closed.

I don't think bluechris was out of line. I'm sure lots of people feel the same way when they read such comments.

Doug...very accurate clarification.

As for BT vs. Sunee prices, I find NO reasonable option in BT for non-gogo bar drinking. Panarama and the rest seemed to charge the same ( or close to it) as the gogo bars, for no reason I could see.

Maybe I just didn't find the right place, so if there is a reasonable non-gogo bar in the BT area, please post :bounce:

These Beer Bars offer no GoGo Boys , no a/c etc etc. But they do offer cheap prices. The argument is painting BT as a place with High Prices when it is predominately a GoGo Bar location.

If you are going to make sweeping statements that BT has high prices then there is an implication that the GoGo Bars are priced much higher then similar venues in Sunee. This is simply not the case. If you compare Apples with Apples then BT is marginally more expensive then Sunee for what it offers. GoGo Bars.

If you don't want to see 1/2 naked boys and lots of them , you spend your time in Beer Bars at Sunee where what is offered is completely different and therefore the prices are completely different. Sunee Beer Bars are supported all year long by many ExPats who have a different agenda for what they want from a Bar since they are present 100% of the time.

BT caters more to the customer who is visiting for a week or 2 or 3 and is more interested in SEX. Not an absolute distinction but a predominant one.

But making sweeping statements that BT has high prices is just plain wrong and does a disservice to new comers and the businesses in BT

As far as BT prices, there re a few bars including Happy Place who have a happy hour. Happy Place has a 99 baht happy hour between 8 - 9 pm and while it is only an hour, it is somehing.

Neal: Since you left Happy Place the extremely popular and profitable Boy Bingo has gone and the website is soon to follow. My two visits in November gave me the bar virtually to myself. At this rate the bar will close within a year.

22nd i wasted my time visiting BT for bingo and we had a drink in Panorama before. I had ginger ale and the price was much higher than in Sunee. When walking was asking some prices and i will keep my opinion like my signature.

No longer my bar and no longer my concern however I will say that I did for he first tie go in to look at Boyztown the other day at 10:30 showtime and no bul but the place was packed. Take that for what it is. I will also say that once a month they do come to my home and talk about some of thei ideas and I advise them of what I hear on the internet and other from other places so they are aware of your comments. Currently I have been talking to them regarding the complaints on allowing smoking. When they leave, they make their own decisions so I don't usually know which way they are headed until I like you read about it.

It was decided to keep the website going and I have discussed with them and updated some information on the website. As I mentioned prior, they decided to discontinue Boy Bingo. As it was popular for me, it was not a money maker when taking into account the prizes and give a ways and they were not able to take a loss as I did. It was posted on the forums but I forgot it was on the website also. We covered that already and I did apologize but whist you read this forum, I guess you did not see the notices.

As I mentioned I went there for the first time the other night and at show time as usual the place was full.

I quite agree your with your statement, but they do have beer bars, ok, a little more expensive, like panorama, oscars, serene and castro, all charge between 100-120 for a beer, then the gogo are about 160-180 a drink, and the 2 showbars are around 180-200 for a drink, if you like that sort of thing. i don't go to jomtien often so cannot make a comparison

A spotlessly clean toilet in a bar?...now that would be a novelty. I have however come accross some good novelty toilets in bars. In a girly bar around Walking Street way a bar had it's individual urinals in the shape of a woman's fanny....I didn't know whether to piss on it or throw up all over it.

For example, I remember on one occasion Heaven nightclub in London installed a highly polished and reflective urinal, it was almost mirror like and made going to the toilets quite fun. However, it did not last long, it was rumoured that the local authority, Westminster City Council, were not happy with it and insisted that it was removed. Killjoys!

But the best urinal I remember visiting was at a nightclub in Madrid. There was a very long clear Perspex urinal down the middle of the toilets at which you could relieve yourself (take a piss) at either side of the clear Perspex. IтАЩve never seen toilets quite so busy . . . and all those gloriously sexy Spanish boys . . . hmmm!
