Shoe shine guys

Over the years of many trips to Pattaya, I have always seen one or two shoe shine guys ready to polish my shoes whenever they are needed. However, this is the firt time I haven't seen them working in the sois.

Does anyone know what has happened to them?

Funny you should bring this up, as I was wondering the same thing. After 3 days in Isan, my shoes were a mess. I figured I would have them cleaned up while enjoying a beer in Sunee. I never did see anyone....

I would think a good way to earn some easy, extra money for a Thai.....

as about any Asian wears slippers, this must be the 1 and only place in the whole of Th where shoeshineboys can do enough jobs to earn a little money. Never ever seen them elsewhere.
