Trip report 19.09.-21.09.2012 Three Kingdoms Park

19.09.2012 Wednesday Pattaya

Go to the gay beach at Jomtien/Dongtan and spend the afternoon there. Coconut 30 Baht, chair 30 Baht, no tip (we discussed this already). Then to Saensuk Sauna. Construction work, but still plenty of customers. I hook up with one (B) and we go to my favorite cubicle (the one with a window). Enough light and dry skin, which is rare for saunas (I donтАЩt like sex in the dark and wet skin (sweat), but in the steam room is fine). Exchange phone numbers with B.

When I leave the the sauna I see a boy I noticed inside (but couldnтАЩt get a close look with sufficient light) standing there beside his motocy, so I ask him if he goes back to Pattaya and if I can invite him to dinner. In the restaurant I can get a closer look with good light and we have some conversation, not so much my type, so we leave it at exchanging phone numbers and gayromeo profiles.

I go bar hopping. In X-Boys I off a boy (according to my notes: 180 Baht drink for me, 200 for him, 400 off fee, 1100 tip), but my memory is zero. Blackout. Next time I have to check for him to see if memory comes back when I see him (I donтАЩt even have a a name, just his number). Is this a sign for age or just sensory overload and sexual satiation?

B calls me, I can join him at NAB. We meet outside NAB and I can get in with him for free. B is at a table with some other Thais and a Farang. B shortly introduces me and asks the Farang if I can stay there. What is the disco etiquette in such a situation (apart from not flirting with any boys on the table)? I donтАЩt drink alcohol, only coke and soda and preferably water (molten ice from the champagne cooler with ice for mixers). But still slightly embarrassing: the Farang constantly has to pay for new drink orders (fiddling around in his wallet when the waiters come with bill and flashlight), whereas I get in for free.

B and I leave at 4:30 am (quite late for me) and go back to my room.

20.09.2012 Thursday Pattaya

B is free during day. We want to go to cinema. In Big C Central Pattaya, all foreign movies are dubbed into Thai (I was not aware of this, I only know English with Thai subtitles or Thai with English subtitles, both is fine for me, but Thai without subtitles тАУ sorry, cannot). So we continue our ride on his motocy without safety helmet. Driving from Dolphin roundabout towards the sea, just around the corner, we get into a police control and are stopped for not wearing helmet. The police does not pay any attention to me, but B has to go to the police station (they have motorcylces waiting there to take people to the police station and back) to pay a fine. I wait for him (16:40 to 17:35, the police station was busy) at the beach.

No cinema for that day, we drive to the viewpoint and Navy Radio Station with the monument of Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, the Father of Royal Thai Navy. I knew the viewpoint, the meteorological station, Buddha Hill and the large red тАЮPattayaтАЬ sign on the hill, but I was not aware of the radio station and the monument! I see this memorative plaque with the first name oft he donator being р╕Кр╕▒р╕Кр╕Кр╕зр╕┤р╕ р╕Рр╣М (Chatchawit).

Three times in succession the same letter in a name. Wonderful! [1] We observe the sunset and part as B has to go to work.

Bar hopping: Mic My Boy, Krazy Dragon, Jet Set, Splash, Vassa. Finally I find someone in Toy Boys and off E for long time.

21.09.2012 Friday Pattaya and Three Kingdom Park

It turns out E is a heavy smoker. Of course I asked him in the bar if he smokes cigarettes and if he can abstain from smoking during the time with me, but there is nothing I can do about it, he had two cigarettes on the balcony at night and two in the morning. So we part after breakfast (otherwise I would have taken him for sightseeing during the day).

Internet cafe, gayromeo. A boy (J) contacts me. His profile is not compelling, but he stays very close so I go to meet him. And when I see him I think: yes, I would like to know him closer. Hook-up in Sunee Plaza (J stays there!) with an 18 year old non-moneyboy тАУ miraculous! So I ask if he wants me to join to go to Three Kingdoms Park (according to internet: near Mabprachan reservoir, approximately 12 kilometers from Sukhumvit road, Central Pattaya). I read about this place somewhere in the internet (I donтАЩt remember when and where).

http://www.3kingdomspark.com/ their homepage in Thai (current or permanent error?)
http://www.pattayaunlimited.com/2010/03 ... -park.html (http://www.pattayaunlimited.com/2010/03/three-kingdoms-park.html)

I arrange transportation from a street travel agency opposite my place (Two Guys Guesthose) for 600 Baht return. A taxi would have been sufficient, but they take us two in a van (13:08 -13:38). Entry 150 Baht for Farang, 80 Baht for Thai.

Entry gate (seen from inside):

Return to Pattaya 15:04 тАУ 15:42. We have dinner together and go back to my room. I ask J to help me with Thai language. After about 30 minutes, he gets bored and tired of teaching me Thai language, so we both lie there on the bed and the inevitable takes place.

At night we go to Major Cineplex but canтАЩt agree on a movie. Walking down the escalator, we run across JтАЩs Singaporean friend (boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, whatever) who knew from calling J that he is there with me. I noticed before that they had an argument and was able to read some of the text messages they exchanged (in English). Perfect opportunity to go to Asiabooks (I like strolling in book shops and was already pondering how to make this palatable to J) so they can sort out their problems and decide who goes with whom. When I come back, they are sitting there quiet.

I suggest we have dinner. On our way, we have to stop due to rain. J leaves to meet a friend. Hide and seek for three follows. An hour and a dozen phone calls and text messages later, I meet J and A (a Thai friend of J) at Central festival. It turns out that A works in a gay establishment in Boyztown and is fluent in French (I checked) because he grew up in France and has Thai and French passport. He does not like life in France, thatтАЩs why he came back to Thailand. Tell that to the other boys! We walk back and J stays over night.

To be continued.

[1] I donтАЩt want to bore you with details, but I have a liking for languages, linguistics and for unusual words and word games. I donтАЩt know of any English word with three times the same letter in succession (maybe I should consult LMTU?), in German we can have them in compound words [2], the same for Russian [3], in French [4] this is only possible for the female form of the past participle of some verbs (I know of only two), but in Thai itтАЩs not uncommon to have three times the same letter in succession (due to writing without spaces between words and writing some vowels above or below the consonant). I even found cases with four times the same letter in succession and constructed sentences with five times the same letter in succession. It should be possible to extend this to six times. I am working on it.

[2] Sauerstoffflasche (oxygen cylinder) and Teeei (tea egg) being the most prominent examples

[3] if you count ╨╣ as ╨╕ in ╨╝╨╡╤В╨╕╨╗╨╝╨░╨│╨ ╜╨╕╨╣╨╣╨╛╨┤╨╕╨┤ (methylmagnesium iodide)

[4] if you count ├й as e in cr├й├йe (created feminine singular form)

I certainly appreciate it - only ChristianPFC gives you stuff like this.

In fact I am going to print the last part out - just in case I'm ever in Germany and require to ask for an oxygen cylinder.

Nice report Christian...though it turned into a bit of a soap opera near the end...."Hide and seek for three"

Regarding your question about English words with 3 consecutive identical letters:

The answer is no, because the usual rules of English spelling outlaw triple letters. We put hyphens in words that contain three of the same letters in a row, so as to break the letters up, e.g. bee-eater, bell-like, cross-section, cross-subsidize, joss-stick, and shell-less. A person who flees is a fleer, not a fleeer, and someone who sees is a seer, not a seeer. Chaffinches used to be called chaff finches, but when the two words were merged, one of the letter 'f's was dropped.

Written representations of noises often contain triple letters, such as brrr, shhh, and zzz, but they don't really count as proper words.

Google is a powerful tool :sign5:

You might also enjoy bOOKKEEper as a fun English word...

There is a bridge in Japan written:

хнРхнРхнРхнРцйЛ

Problem is, no-one, except the locals, knows how to pronounce it! The character хнР can be read as NE, SHI, JI, SU and KO. So it's a combination of these sounds.

Good on you Christian for having a go at Thai. The written language is beautiful to look at, but a complete mystery to me. :(

You seem to be thoroughly enjoying yourself (as usual), combining sex with sightseeing.

Which bar have you found the best so far?

And what bar in BT does the guy who speaks French work at?

That was a nice report though. What fun is Thailand without some drama? :-)

Great trip report . We need more like it on the forum. I loved the bit about you having a favourite cubicle at Samsuk. When I've been in them I've not taken much note of the facilities.

No wonder I have been looking for English words with three consecutive identical letters for twenty years without result, if there is a rule against them!

My favorite bars are X-Boys (Bangkok and both in Pattaya), Classic Boys and Eros. (I consider this information irrelevant, that's why I don't post it unless I'm asked.)

The boy who is fluent in French works in BoysBoysBoys as far as I remember. (I know his account on gayromeo, PM me if you want to know.)
